Guardian Angels, Archangels, and the Power of Divine Guidance

Hello, everybody, and welcome to this week's episode of Whispers from the Mist. Conversations from the spiritual byway. I'm Stacy, and with me is Michelle. Hey Stacy, how are you? Good. Did I say it right? You did. It's a good title. I like it. I do too. It feels right. Because I mean, realistically, spirituality and the conversations that we have are really definitely from the spiritual byway. There's so much to talk about.

Before we jumped onto this recording, we were talking about upcoming episodes. And really, spirituality, paranormal, it covers so much. So we're going to have an episode on aliens. We're going to have episodes on dolls. We're going to have episodes on Ed and Lorraine Warren. So we have a lot coming up that I'm super excited about. I'm excited to jump into the research and bring my own experiences to the table.

And that's like a key thing, is a lot of what we talk about and, you know, kind of stepping right into the conversation that we're about to have is based on our experiences and how we have learned to understand things from our own perspective. What are we talking about today, Michelle?

Today we are going to be talking about angels. Love this. And I know this is not a one-or-done conversation because there are so many different directions we could go. I think we'll kind of do an overview of angels, how you can ask them into your life, if we have personal experiences we want to share with them. I think there's a lot we can talk about here, but then I think we have a whole episode about archangels and oh, there's there's so much there.

And I think my first thought is what is an angel? Like what do we define it as? What are your thoughts? I I don't even want to add anything on to that. Well, I believe that angels are messengers from God.

I believe they are beings that have never incarnated or had a life here on earth. I see them as beings of light, being interdimensional support. And they are beings that provide us with guidance, protection, comfort, and communication with the divine.

And then you you can easily shift into this conversation around if angels are real, then are demons real? And and it can get very muddled very quickly. So one of the things that I'm going to throw out there is I absolutely believe in angels and I believe in higher power. I believe, you know, in God. I have no reason to question it. I have no reason to not believe it. But if we step into this with just that sole focus of religion, I think we also lose a lot of people. So I have always compared, and I'm not saying equally compared, but I've always looked at angels very similar to guides, very similar energy, very similar experience, very similar reasons for their presence and their ability to love and protect us. Angels and guides are both all about being on path. Are you on path? Are you going down the path that you're supposed to go on? How do we get you back to that? And I'm I'm saying path a lot, but they are, in my experience, solely driven by you on the right path. Does that make sense?

It does make sense. And I've thought a lot about that. And I know in a previous episode, I've said maybe some people look at angels like not extraterrestrial, but just something that is for our greatest and highest good that we just don't understand yet. But I do think that angels come in and they can come in in all different directions where spirituality is concerned, maybe a little bit from that religious base, because we've all heard of angels. We've all heard of their lightness, we've all heard that they're there to help us. They're a messenger that will take our messages to God or back and forth. It's very much in not only our society, it's just something we grew up learning about. And as also we've grown, we've shifted in our own perspective on religion. And again, I will say religion. Oh, that was weird. Did you hear that? No. When I said religion, it just echoed on my side. Like that's the only word that did it. Interesting. Really interesting. Yeah. You should discern this for a minute. No, it's really interesting. But what I was saying is everybody has their form of angels, and as we grow up, our views shift of things. And when they shift, angels still bring comfort. Because for me, I've had a hard time shifting from being, you know, in the Lutheran religion to my own form of spirituality and helping them merge. But angels for me have been a bridge, as God has been a bridge between the two.

And and that makes sense. And I think really what it comes down to is each individual's personal comfort around, I even just around the terms. Because I will tell you that being a Reiki master teacher, when I talk to people who have significantly religious backgrounds about energetic healing or energy healing or, you know, what that looks like, they're like, nope, that goes against my religion. I can't do that. That's that that goes against my belief in God. But when I can change the language around it so that we can meet. And I'm not saying it's it's always going to be the same and it's always going to work, but when we can meet in an understanding, it opens the door to other experiences, other energies. And angels to me are beings of light and love. And that is, you know, when you're stranded and stuck and you're feeling energetically bound, you can reach out to angels and ask them for comfort and help. And I guarantee that once you say, you know, angels, I know you're there. Can you provide me some light and love so that I can move through this stagnation? Something is going to come up that allows you to see that there's forward movement.

And I've experienced that myself in life. And I think we're going to jump into that in a little more detail. But I do want to go back to your first comment or one of the first comments about the subject. And when people think of angels, they automatically think of demons. My mind doesn't go there. Maybe it should, and that balance between good and evil, but I just really focus on the light of angels.

Well, I think that might be the um Catholicism showing in me because I was raised Roman Catholic, which I know we've touched on in the past. But when you look at the different religions and how they are taught in like forms of Catholicism, you are taught to fear hell. You are taught to fear the dark energy. And it becomes like this innate thing where you're you're constantly going, well, the angels are really good. I need to stay away from the darkness. And how do I stay away from the darkness? I'm afraid of the darkness. I don't want the darkness to touch me.

Does that make sense? It makes sense. And I was raised Lutheran, and the concept of hell was there too, and good versus evil. It's just when I think of angels, that's not the first thing that comes to mind. Well, maybe this steps a little bit into the religious side, but I think it's important to share about angels. There are nine orders of angels or choirs of angels, and they are broken into three spears. So each spear contains three different types of angels. The first spear, which they say is closest to God, is the celestial counselors, such as Seraphim, the cherubim, and the thrones. And the Seraphim, they surround the throne of God. The cherubim, they're the guardians of that space. And the thrones, they are the divine justice. So that's sphere one. Then it steps to the second sphere, which are the celestial governors. We have the dominions, the virtues, and the powers. Virtues and powers, I didn't realize those referred to different types of angels. I just have always heard those words in religion, but I guess I didn't understand that they were types of angels. That's really interesting. Do you want me to tell you real quickly what their jobs are before I move? I mean the Dominions, they regulate the duties and responsibilities of the lower angels. Yep. And they help kind of navigate the workings of the universe. The virtues try to follow the natural order of things, while the powers, the powers that be, are the warrior angels. And they're the ones that enforce the balance and are our defense against the dark. Yep. So that is the second spear, the third sphere, they're the celestial messengers, they're the principalities, the archangels and the angels. Principalities being those who guide and protect entire nations, cities, and groups, so larger forms, not more personalized. The archangels, they are the messengers from God. They're very high-ranking, they bring revelations, try to balance in harmony. And the last ones are the angels. You know those as our guardian angels that are there to support us, to love us, to guide us, to help us. I will say that throughout all of this, I thought archangels were right there. Like in interesting. That was in the third sphere.

Yep. I that's my my brain was there because when you first started sharing the breakdown, I'm like, yeah, archangels are at the top. No. I mean, not in a bad way. Not in a bad way.

They're just closest to working with humanity. Yes. Is the way to say it. But they are direct messengers from God. Because if you look at Archangel Michael's name, Michael means messenger of God.

Interesting. What I find interesting too is the archangels are known to be the protectors in in different ways. And the archangels, you know, as we call upon them, you know, in in the I'm not going to say in the use, but I know I have called upon archangels in my clearings and things along those lines because they are known to be protectors as well.

I do know that all the different archangels, they come with their own color, they come with their own area of expertise, kind of like you said. So you get to know those energies and you learn who to call in at different points in time. I think that's really cool because that's kind of how my guides presented themselves with me, like my red guide. She's that activity guide. She's the focus, she's the journey. Then I have the yellow guide who's the nurturing, the hugger, the one who's there just to unconditional love. And then the green one, he's the protector. So they all have their own jobs and purposes, and that's how I see them around me. They're not all archangels, but that's kind of how I look at archangels too. They all have a specific job.

And that, and and you kind of are leading right into the conversation of like, why is this important, spirituality? And I know one of the things that you and I have talked about in the past is exactly what I just brought up a minute or two ago. We do spiritual clearings. And when we do spiritual clearings, we are bringing in the energy of different angels for different things. I know when I'm doing a spiritual clearing that is going to be heavy, that the first energy that I call in is Archangel Michael to protect the space and help me remove or break down whatever spiritual issue is going on. But then I followed up with Archangel Gabriel, who comes in and helps create healing and, you know, different empowering things. So it's just all it's very interesting, I think. It's fascinating.

Well, I just want to jump to like the nine orders of angels again. I mean, historically, that is what is written about them. In more modern times or more modern understanding of things, we primarily are focusing, at least the people I talk to, the shows I listen to, the research I do on the archangels, the guardian angels, and then also earth angels are brought in sometimes also, which are basically a human embodiment of supportive energy. But I do believe there are times when if they need to get your attention or a special message that they can either come down and for a moment channel through somebody, or maybe they're just people put on this earth who are unaware they're angels and just have a presence that reaches and heals just by walking.

Just by being there. And I actually would agree with that because I I know people and I'm trying to remember the last time I spoke with one of them about an experience that they had where they were in a car and they were in the middle of nowhere. And we're talking middle of the night, like, you know, horror movie-esque experience where you're like in the middle of the desert, nobody is near you, nobody's around you, there's nothing close by, and you break down, right? And I know this person well enough to know that they wouldn't have shared this with me if they did not, without question, just remember it so vividly. But they said they got out of their car and they were trying to figure out what they do, what they were going to do, because there was nothing near them. And out of nowhere, a person showed up, helped them get up and running again. And when they turned around to say thank you, the person was gone. And it left them with this light feeling, this feeling of such strong love and and just beauty, that they walked away from the experience and they said, I met an angel today. I know I met an angel. And there was no question about it.

And how connecting to know that you are loved and that you are being watched over. And when you're scared and you need it, they're there.

There's songs written about that. Yeah. And and when you are in a uh space of like just absolute need and desperation, and you take oh, I just got full body chills, and you take the time to ask for help from, you know, the angels, from from your guides, from from anyone, and just to hear these experiences where they show up, you know that when you're somewhere and and you're feeling some type of way or you're you're sad, or there's you know, whatever, you're never alone, ever alone. And it's kind of a beautiful thing.

It is a beautiful thing. It's that little voice that you hear sometimes. I mean, we did have an episode just recently about spirit guides, and I absolutely, and you said this starting the episode, they can be, angels can be part of your spiritual team. Throughout this episode, you've also been talking about inviting them in and asking for their help. And that is how you get the help of angels. You have free will, you're living your life as you will live it. But when you ask for that help, when you invite it in, they'll be there.

Yep. And one thing to make very clear about that is if you don't ask for help and you don't invite them to show up and help you and assist you, they're not gonna. They won't cross that. I don't want to say line, but I any of us can can ask for help at any point in time. And it is, I my understanding, and and you can correct me because I think you and I've talked about this in the past, it is the rule of the angels to not interfere with humanity unless we request the assistance.

Yeah, and I mean my mind goes to something more human, like you are training for a new job and you are following someone, and they finally put you out on the floor to do it yourself. If you're struggling with something, they want you to figure it out.

I love that you're using that as an example because they did put me on the floor this week and I am training for a new job.

SPEAKER_02 18:48

I didn't, I mean, I knew you were training for a new job. I didn't know they put you on the floor or anything. How weird is that? Another coincidence. Like some weird things are coming through during this episode. Yeah. Have you ever had any experiences where you felt physically scared or unsafe where you have called in an angel and you can recall them coming in and providing that assistance?

SPEAKER_00 19:13

Yes. Once. And it's it's a story that I I think I've shared in in a past podcast, but I'll share it again because it's it's you ask me this question, and I immediately get like full body, like, whoa, like it, it, there are so many different feelings of it. But I was working a previous job, we're talking like six, seven years ago at this point in time. And I had a favorite turn off on the highway where I could go and see a beautiful area in the state of New Hampshire. And because of where I was traveling, I got to drive by it. So every time I drove by this one place, I would turn off and and take a, it was like a quarter mile hike and see this like natural, beautiful thing in the state. And it was just starting to warm up. So there was still ice everywhere. There was still like you had to be really careful. And that was that was fine because I had sneakers and and it was paved, and like I just needed to be careful. I remember going under an underpass, and I received this almost visceral physical stop right now. Stop here. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, and I knew something was really wrong. And so I kind of stood there for a moment because there was the human part of me that wanted to push through and see this natural, beautiful area that I was there to see. And then the bigger part of me was almost like someone was in my face, and it felt like at this point in time was my guide or, you know, just something saying, no, stop, you need to turn around, turn around now. So I turned around and went back to my car. And I remember at the time kind of calling in protection, Archangel Michael, please protect me, you know, whatever. And I made it back to my car. And when I got back to the car, I actually felt safe. But I was still absolutely shaken up because there was this innate feeling that I walked away from where if they, these spiritual beings, my guides, my my guardian angel, hadn't stopped me, I think something really, really, really bad would have happened. And I have never been one to listen to major signs like that. But on that day you did.

I did. Because it was so in your face.

Yeah.

Well, I remember a time when my husband and I, we had taken our jet skis out on a very calm lake. And by the time we got halfway down the lake, the weather had changed and waves were coming up. So he's like, we need to turn it around and go and load back up the jet skis. I'm like, okay. And I thought he was overreacting in the moment, but I'm like, I don't really know. So I'm just I'm not a marine person. So we get back to pull the jet skis up on the car. So he goes and gets the car. And I'm standing between two jet skis. And the wind had picked up and the waves were crashing them into my body. I really felt like I was going to get crushed. And at that point, I said, Archangel Michael, Archangel Raphael, please come in and help me. And it was a feeling. And it almost felt like even though the world was going on around us in waves, that these just kind of moved out like this and they stopped bumping into me. And I know that probably wasn't a life or death thing, but it is something where I felt physically unsafe, scared. I called them in and I got their help. And I knew I didn't have to doubt it. I didn't have to question it because it felt different. It felt like someone was holding them at bay until my husband got there. That's amazing. It was such a cool experience. Have you ever met any of the archangels? Have you seen them or guardian angels?

I I believe I have met a human that I feel is an angel and carries that energy with them wherever they go. And it's a very different feeling when you're in their space because it's calm, it's easy, but they are still having a human experience as well. So there's there is that that that strong human perspective of them, but that's only one person I've ever met have I really felt was almost an angel.

But you recognize them when they come in for like Reiki sessions because I know you've done one on me and you're like Archangel Michael was there.

And I know I've shared with everybody in our guide episode that I do work with Archangel Michael. He is my main guide. So I do work with him. While I've seen him with my third eye, um, I haven't really seen him in person. Like in the distance, I've kind of felt like I've seen the shape start to form, but I think I kind of step out of that because I'm like, oh wow. Like, yeah, you know, I get startled. Uh, the only other archangel I can say that I've come face to face with, and it was in a dream, is Archangel Raphael. And it's really weird. I went down like this tunnel, and at the end of this tunnel, there was this beautiful color green, and this beautiful angel figure with like this blonde, longer hair, and we were having a conversation, and then I got awakened. And in that moment, I'm like, oh, that was totally Archangel Raphael. And that was like a really, really cool experience. I loved that. I felt like he was watching over me, and I know he is somebody I always call in, but it was cool. Yeah. And I do think archangels, I mean, we have an idea of kind of in our minds what they should look like, but it doesn't mean they necessarily look like that. They could be beings of light who just put on a human figure so we recognize them and we're not fearful. Yes.

And I and I think that that is what happens more often than not, is that they show up in as as humans or some sort of comforting presence so that we are not fearful. A question I have for you, how can we connect with our angels? Talk to them. That's that's my biggest thing, is is just ca it's the same with your guides. I kind of I kinda say to do the same things on both fronts. And I'm not an expert by any means, but if you want to have experiences with angels, if you want to have experiences with your guides, communicate. And be open to it.

Be open to their support and their guidance. Remember, you have free will. You don't have to listen to it just like a child who doesn't want to listen to their parent when they're saying something for their own good. But be open to their support and guidance and you know, let it walk with you. And then also stay calm and grounded because that will help grow the connection with them also. You just get this flow of conversation or a flow of how you work together going and just focus on that. Yeah, the the feeling, the energetic feeling at that. Well, how do you think angels communicate with us? However, they need to.

I don't think that there's a specific straight answer to that.

Well, if you feel anxious and upset, is that angel energy?

SPEAKER_00 26:57

Oh no, no. I mean, you if you're feeling anxious and upset, you are lower vibration. So you've got to raise your vibration to connect with them. But I think also whenever you're asking them for help, their form of communication in return might show up different ways.

SPEAKER_02 27:13

I think it can also be just, you know, a calm, quiet knowing, again, timing is everything and it's aligning with what you need in the natural, the human world, your human life at that moment. I think angels can also communicate through physical sensations, such as feeling warmth in your belly or just a presence around you. Sometimes I swear, I'll be walking or just going about my day, and I'll feel something come and stand right behind me, like it's on my left shoulder, protecting me. And again, their guidance really should feel supportive and not be overwhelming to you. They shouldn't be throwing so much at you that you don't have time to process. That's not how they work. Right. Yeah. Especial guardian angels, they have been with you probably most of your life, not always, because we have guides that come in and out of our lives, but I do believe that your guardian angel has been with you.

They know they know you're not going to work well if you're overwhelmed. So they're not going to overwhelm you.

They are not. Do angels feel like they're something personal or universal?

SPEAKER_00 28:29

I don't have an answer for that one.

SPEAKER_02 28:32

I feel like there are angels assigned to both, that they can be there on a personal level, but like when a natural disaster happens, there are angels that will step in and gather prayer and intention to specifically deal with that. I would tend to agree with that, actually. I I like that a lot. And how do angels differ from guides? I think the loving presence is loving presence. And I think an angel can definitely be a guide. I absolutely agree with that. And, you know, if you're trying to communicate with them, look for repeating numbers, look for feathers, they do send out those other little signs that are associated with them. And I will share this, and this is gonna be part of a future episode on the Warrens. I'm doing research on them right now, and the other day I was watching some videos that their grandson, Chris McNeil, had put out. And I mean, he's talking about the home, he's talking about Annabelle, he's talking about Amneyville, and it's night. I'm sitting out there by myself, and I look down, and on the couch next to me is a white feather.

Now I a hundred percent know that it probably came from the pillow I was holding and like covering my face with. I I get that, but the fact that it came out of a zipped closed pillow in that moment, I did feel like the angels were with me, especially when he was talking about how everything they do is so religious based and calling in the light of God. And I just really felt like my angels were there as a like, we're here. This is like you should be listening.
