On this week's episode of Whispers from the Mist, Conversations from the Spiritual Byway, we are going to introduce ourselves and share the heart behind this new podcast. Why does it exist? What led us here? And what can you expect as we travel this byway together? Let's start the music, and I hope you enjoy the episode. Hi, everyone, and welcome to Whispers from the Mist, Conversations from the Spiritual Byway. I am Michelle, and I am here with my co-host, Stacy Curtis. Hey Stacy. Hello. Hello, Michelle. Hello, everybody. Hello, everybody. Thank you for finding us. Either finding us as podcasts new to you or our listeners from Recaps and A Dash of Spirituality.

SPEAKER_01

We're so glad that you could all join us. And I'm gonna say this, you know, first episodes are always in the intro episodes. Reintroduce yourself, please.

SPEAKER_00

I'll just quickly say my name is Michelle Millen. I am a psychic medium or an intuitive psychic or an empath. Like you could say so many things about me. I opened up in 2019 and I have been learning ever since then. I used to consider myself clueless, and now I just consider myself curious. I just want to stay open and I don't want to be limited by my own expectations. I just want the universe to bring it on.

SPEAKER_01

Bring it on. I love that. I'm Stacey. I have been an intuitive or psychic medium or whatever the heck you want to call me since I was about 13, is actually when I had my first experience. So I don't want to say a lifelong experiencer, but you know, it's been a minute. It's pretty damn close. It is. It is. My background, you know, is also, I think we both actually have a little bit of a background in psychology. I worked in crisis work. I've done a little bit of everything. And I think for me, just as an intro, the one of the most valuable things is coming from not only the science and spirituality and where they mix, but also normalizing experiences that we have that perhaps we wouldn't otherwise have or be able to talk about in a safe space.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. I think one of the things we want the most for this podcast is we want it to be a safe place for people to have that conversation that maybe they can't have with people in their everyday lives or an experience that they want to know if other people are having. So we're going to be open to all of that. We are here for all of that. We want your questions, we want your opinions, your insights. Like share with us because this is really a community. That's what we're going for.

SPEAKER_01

And if you want to be a guest star on the show, reach out. If you've got a story to share, something that you want to talk about, I'm pretty sure Michelle and I are both open to hearing from you. Yeah. And don't be intimidated.

SPEAKER_00

You don't have to have years and years of experiences. You had one experience that has changed you. You have one experience that you want to talk about. We're here for it. We want to hear about it. And I don't know, like new stories are inspiration to me. And that is what I have loved about this journey is people opening up more to me about an experience they had because they know that I'm a safe space, as is this podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And that's what we're here for. And we're also here for the questions and the, you know, this happened and I don't understand how who, what, where, when, why, or how. And, you know, just kind of talking through things too, because the things that go bump in the night have always gone bump in the night. And the reality is that making them more being more open about these things and just having that awareness that they are there is really one of the most powerful things that we can do.

SPEAKER_00

It absolutely is. And I came across this quote and I love it. And I really do think this is going to be an anchoring point for the podcast. And it goes like this This podcast isn't about having the answers. It's about staying open enough to keep asking better questions.

unknown

Ooh.

SPEAKER_00

I know that is so powerful. I keep reading it and I can't let it go because we're still learning, we're still shifting, we're still trying to understand this. And maybe we don't have all the answers. Maybe we won't all ever have all the answers, but we're here, we're trying, we're exploring, and we're interested.

SPEAKER_01

And I think that's one of the most powerful things, too, is just knowing that we don't have all the answers, but we're willing to continue to explore and ask the questions really sets things. It doesn't set us apart necessarily from everybody else in the world, but it allows us to continue to explore and be open to exploration. You just made me think of a conversation that I was having with somebody many years ago about beliefs and holding beliefs really strongly. And I remember them saying, you know, Stacy, if your beliefs are like an anvil, dropping that is going to hurt. But if you hold your belief system like a feather, it can float away and you can shift with the time and grow accordingly. And I think spirituality and having these conversations is more about holding belief structures loosely, not releasing your belief system quickly because because you're learning something, but being able to grow and shift with it.

SPEAKER_00

And really the only thing constant in this world is crazy and as backwards as it seems is change. The only thing constant in this world is change. And that is what we do every day. People come in, they're bringing in their viewpoints, they're bringing in their experiences through their eyes. And we're learning. We're not judging, we're just learning from them. I really like to think of myself as still becoming. Yes. I'm still becoming who I'm meant to be. And I have not felt that more than I have in the past, I'd say two weeks. Just really stepping in and seeing, oh, I can do that. And I I can project the person that I want to be. And I'm okay with that. I am not listening to judgments around me. I am not taking on the pressure of that. I just want to become. And I want that to be a theme for the podcast too.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't that what life is really about too? Is we don't, we aren't, we, we aren't just who we are. It's who we are becoming, is really where the power is. And that, you know, I I love that so much because that brings me right back to tarot and my favorite tarot card, which we've talked about numerous times before. But the death card being my favorite card is all about transition. It's about becoming, it's about stepping into change rather than fighting against it. And if we don't allow for there to be room for shifting, we get stuck and stagnant. And and stagnated energy is just not good for anybody, right?

SPEAKER_00

No, we all know what that feels like. We all know the heaviness that comes with stepping into a room where the energy isn't able to slow correctly.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And and really stepping into a room with stagnant energy feels like walking through what I picture like mud that goes up to your knees. You're not moving fast. You're you're just kind of like, okay, I'm just sitting in it now. And with growing and and changing and becoming, you're allowing that space for energetic growth.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. Well, I'm so excited about this show because as we mentioned before, we're gonna have more guests. So we're gonna have more conversations with people who are still learning, who are still open, who want to share a different vantage point with us. And that is amazing to me because I don't know much about, let's say, auras. I mean, I know what they are, but do I see them sometimes? But I see them different. I experience them different. So I want to hear what they're doing. Or I, as you said earlier, I want to hear about experience. I want people to feel invited in. And I want them to start recognizing their own roadblocks and just continuing to learn in fun, having fun with it, not being so serious about it, not thinking that like because I'm saying this today and this is a position I'm at today, I can't grow, I can't change, I can't shift because you can and you will.

SPEAKER_01

That's just how it goes. That's life. Life is growing and changing. And, you know, I still like the the word becoming. It's it's all about, you know, taking lessons and using them and not, you know, just staying put in and you know, in improving with the forward movement. What I'm looking forward to as well with diving into this podcast is I'm very hopeful that we can have so many more stories that we hear from our listeners. Like, I want I would love to get more questions or, you know, stories to share. And and that is that is my hope moving forward is that this really does create a space where people can come and share.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. And so much of what we share here comes from our own experiences. Like I had this experience and it got me thinking about that. We're again not saying we're an authority on anything.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. We we learn and grow just as much as everybody else does. And what's what I what I am looking forward to is I I don't necessarily want to be the authority. I want to be just a safe space. And, you know, with our experiences, we we learn from one another too. Definitely.

SPEAKER_00

And oftentimes we do look at things the same way or very similar ways, or our ways connect very well. It's almost like that support system that's always been there and just built in. And I just really appreciate that. We can go into looking at something from two different perspectives and just find that common ground too, and say, I don't know what I'm trying to say. I'm just talking in circles right now. I think I'm just trying to say that our abilities work very well together. They're very much supportive of each other and we have a good rhythm of conversation.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we do.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I just like to watch you stumble sometimes.

SPEAKER_00

I know, I was stumbling. So thanks for um getting me off that block and interjecting and trying to say, I'll jump in here. I know what you're trying to say. Yeah, we get each other. Yeah, no, I was just thinking back to like all the times when you're stepping into a clearing or something and the background information that I come up with supports it and maybe shows you something from a different vantage point or vice versa.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah. No, absolutely. And and the cool thing is, is what I think has happened through time, at least with you and I, Michelle, is whenever I'm stepping into a clearing or you're stepping into a reading or anything along those lines, we will reach out to one another and just say, hey, I'm doing this. If you get a chance, can you weigh in and give me your thoughts around this? And for me, it's been very helpful. And I know one of the clearings that I recently did, you reached out and you were talking about the building being um very uh what's the word? Um I'll help you here. It's industrial.

SPEAKER_00

I'm jumping in, saving you, but when you're stumbling.

SPEAKER_01

But when you said that, the the area that I was clearing was not that space, but that is where the energy was picked up. Was it an industrial-esque building? So it it was really kind of cool that you were able to kind of seek out the starting point. Right. Like and that's the that's the best way that I can explain it because that it's helpful for me to know that okay, I'm not just coming up with nothing, but it's there's more to it than than just meets the eye.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the vision that came through was so jumble because it was industrial, but then it was cozy and flowy and a lot of like gray tones. So I just shared what I could hold on to, and sometimes I don't hold on to images very long. They flash up and I don't understand them, and luckily I could place that one.

SPEAKER_01

And and if you recall, it all kind of fit in in the end. And it really did. Very, very interesting. But what I think is going to set this podcast apart is that we do have these experiences. You do ghost hunt, you have had many different experiences with being an intuitive psychic medium, as do I. And being that we both are readers as well, it it kind of sets things apart. We can answer different questions.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. And I think it's important to remember that certainty about something isn't required. Just honor where you are right now. And I remember you have told me that so many times. You're like, what if you are just imagining it? What's the hurt? What's the harm? And I just take it as, okay, I'm learning and this is the experience I had. I'm pretty sure I had it. But if not, it doesn't hurt anybody.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right. And and I think holding things loosely allows us to release that, well, but what if? What if it wasn't real? What if these experiences are all just made up in my head? And you know what? That it's a great point. What if they were? Does believing that they weren't really make a difference? No. No, it doesn't.

SPEAKER_00

No, it just holds you back from trusting yourself. Right. Right so I think it's would be really cool if maybe you shared how you experience a spiritual knowing.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's a great, a great question. I experience spiritual knowing by feeling things. And it's so interesting to say that because when I step into a reading, I'm utilizing tarot cards and I have for many, many years, but I don't, I've never read traditionally. So I can put down, I'm gonna say like the star card, and today it can mean change and growth and and strength and these beautiful things. Whereas tomorrow it can represent, you know, being insecure or trying to open up and just be feeling vulnerable because the cards feel different every time I look at them, depending on what I'm reading for. And it's the same way when I step into spiritual experiences, it's really I I I it's feel. It's it's all kind of I can feel different things, feel different energies. And when I do, it it's interpreting it, interpreting those feelings in a way that I can put language to. So I guess my only example that I have right now is like whenever I do chakra clearing, you know, or Reiki, which you've experienced, Michelle, I walk through in my mind's eye the chakra system within the body. And oftentimes we'll get images that my guide provides me to be able to explain what is going on in each each chakra. And I think one of the coolest visuals that I ever received was standing in the root chakra and feeling like there was a door right in front of me that I was just looking at this closed door. But then as the person clearing it, I stepped away from the door backwards and noticed that there was nothing on either side of the door that you could just walk around, which to me felt as though the individual that I was clearing was creating their own blocks. And so we were able to kind of talk through that and what that meant. And that's kind of how I get my information.

SPEAKER_00

What about you? I love that. I love how you explained what a reading feels like for you because you're an intuitive reader, which means when you look at the cards, images will pop, or perhaps it's just a way to focus your energy. You've already gotten the information. And when you look at the card, that's why it brings you to those emotions because that's kind of how I read too. I will step into meditation, I will pull from that. And then when I look at the cards, they're just somewhere for me to focus my attention and certain things pop. And as you said, for each person I read for, the feeling of that card is completely different. Uh, it is a little disconcerting sometimes when I'm not trusting myself and you're looking at a card that's supposed to be so happy, again, like the sun. And it's, you know, feels like childlike and energy, but that's not what you're pulling from it. You're pulling the shadow from it or something. But that is just how my intuition works when it comes to reading. And as far as spiritual experiences, I would say that I'm pretty good about following the breadcrumbs and putting pieces together. Like I will come across something and it almost has like this energetic glow behind it. And I know it's a piece of information I need to hold on to. I don't know why I need to hold on to it, but I know that it will reveal itself later. Eventually. And one example of this, and I know I've shared it in a previous podcast, but it's when my aunt passed away and I was watching Meet the Parents, and the parents were talking about Pamela and Martha Fokker. Well, my aunt's name was Pamela. And for some reason, that moment just really stuck in my mind. And I'm like, well, her name's Pam. And Pam was talked. Okay, I guess I heard it. Well, fast forward to her funeral a couple weeks later, a man was walking up with flowers, and I said, Are you here for Pam? He said, No, I'm here for Martha. See, I knew I needed to hold on to that information. I knew I heard it for a reason. I just didn't know what it was in the time. So I get a lot of my information like that. And again, things come up and I put two to two and two together pretty well and can piece together a bigger puzzle.

SPEAKER_01

And that's usually what it comes down to is we are really piecing together a bigger puzzle. And it's, I think one of the neatest things about being a reader and being able to step in intuitively and do psychic readings is when I get that snapshot, which is exactly what a reading is. A reading is a snapshot into somebody's life, and I'm offering, you know, what is to come. For example, you know, people want to know about their future. What about, you know, what is coming through is really just a snapshot in the moment. And one of the most common misconceptions I have found, just to kind of throw this out there, is when I step into a reading and I'm offering future projections, it's off of this moment. You can change everything tomorrow. So I've had some future readings come out, I don't want to say negatively, but in a way that perhaps my sitter would not was not happy about. And one of the biggest things that I've always said is, but you have the power and the strength to change your own future moving forward. And that's kind of a beautiful thing as you step into readings and get those feelings.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think my readings are a lot of just why I don't call it life coaching, kind of this is what's going on right now, and this is what you need to know. When you're talking about future readings, my mind wants to explode because I'm just seeing like a person walking a road and they have a yes or no question and they take the yes, and then the next is a no. But on the other hand, it's going the other way. And so you have all these different lives or possibilities out there. And it is really overwhelming and a little bit mind-blowing to me.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And that I think is one of the coolest things too, though, is I look at readings and and future projections like the branches of a tree. And I love the visual that you just explained, but I'm going to share another visual that I often explain a little bit differently too, is when you're going up a tree branch or going down a tree branch, the branch can branch off into another one and then another one and then another one. Which means I am picking a branch, a possibility in the future, and sharing what I see with the branch that you are standing on right now. Now, with that said, kind of like the yes or no questions, those paths that you're you're explaining, you can change a branch anytime. You can, you can shift to the right, you can shift to the left. And by making those subtle changes, you can empower yourself to create the future that you desire and you dream of.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, a whole new trajectory. Is that kind of where manifestation is coming through? Like that's what I'm thinking of as I'm listening to exactly what you're saying. I think so.

SPEAKER_01

I I think manifestation is really us saying, this is the future that I would like to see and making it happen. And it it's empowering. It's it's less about I am at, you know, control of the universe. And instead, it's I am empowered to shape and create my future the way I desire to see it. When I do a reading and and we're looking at the snapshot into the future, it's just a snapshot into one of millions of possibilities. Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Again, mind blown, just like time, it all just messes with me. We have linear time, nonlinear time, and then different. I think the weirdest thing I ever heard is someone was talking about the concept of time and how it's different everywhere in the universe. And you may have the same 24 hours like a groundhog day, yeah, repeating over and over again, or it may shift every 20 minutes. I mean, it just blows my mind the infinite possibilities. One day on a different planet could be one hour here.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. Which is pretty neat if you think about it. Like there's so many possibilities.

SPEAKER_00

I know. And I mean, we can talk in future episodes more in depth about all these conversations, but I was listening to someone talking about what happens after you die. And they were talking about the life review. And I'm thinking, you know, to myself in Earth like years, you go through everything that you did, how you experienced it, but then you get to see how it affected other people too. So I'm thinking, I'm gonna be in this life review for like a hundred years because not only is it my lifetime, but it's everybody I've ever come in contact with. Right. And they're like, no, it's a matter of seconds.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Well, I I think again that it's all about perspective. And it's all about that shift in in being open to what is a second actually, what is time actually, because a second of a life review could be 50 years on Earth or or a moment in, you know, another parallel universe, right? Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

So many topics to visit, to revisit, maybe bringing in different information about it. I thought it would be a little bit fun though, before we closed out this episode, so the new listeners can get to know us a little bit better to do a this or that. Oh, okay. And I've got I think seven questions, so it'll go pretty quickly, but you know how to play it. You just go with your initial pull. Got it. Okay, let's jump in. This or that. Quiet knowing or sudden downloads. Quiet knowing. I'm quiet knowing too. Tarot cards or signs from the universe. Tarot for me. And I'm all about the signs from the universe. I live for them. I want them all the time. Okay, the next one. Are you skeptical at first or curious at first? Skeptically curious. Oh, I like the blending of the two.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, that's not really in the I can't pick one over the other because I'm I I am very skeptical, but still very curious about it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and it's so funny you say that because that's the one I was struggling with too. Because I would like to say I'm always curious at first, but I'm like, hey, did that really happen? I would say these days I'm more curious first, if I had to pick one. If you held me to the fire. Okay. How about protection rituals or trusting the flow?

SPEAKER_01

I feel like trusting the flow is the same as spiritual and ritual because you're trusting the flow either way. So that's what I would go with.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. That's a good answer. I can't disagree with that. Nighttime intuition or morning clarity?

SPEAKER_01

Nighttime intuition.

SPEAKER_00

I'm nighttime intuition too. I want it to come in and then possibly dream about it or hold on to it until the morning. Here's the last one. Do you want to share an experience immediately or do you want to sit with it for a while?

SPEAKER_01

I tend to sit with them for a while before I share. Unless I'm really having a hard time processing through an experience, I tend to sit with them before I share them.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. And I just want to share immediately. I want somebody to hear what happened to me. And maybe I'm still looking for validation or maybe I'm just looking for insight. I don't know. Maybe they're the same thing, but I want them to be like, wow, that was cool.

SPEAKER_01

How cool is that? Yeah. No, I I I also get that. I think if I'm having a hard time processing through something, I'm the, hey, are you around? Can we talk? Kind of personal.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. That happens more often than not, doesn't it? It does. Well, I do want to share the story, and I have not shared it with you yet. And I'm kind of dying to. So I'm gonna give you a little bit of insight into my world and trusting the universe. So I had a dog that passed away two months ago today. This dog was healthy, active, loving life, prime shape, only five years old. She was injured, her body betrayed her, and then we had to make the difficult decision of putting her to sleep. Now, since she's passed, I have had messages from her. She's come through my other dog. Well, the other day, I don't know, I was sitting in my grief. I was looking through old photos and old videos of her and really thinking about her. And my husband and I were having conversations about her. So that afternoon, we decided to take our dog who's still here for a walk. And we were going to get in the car because, yes, we drive to where we walk with this dog because she's scared. I mean, she's unsure of a lot of energy. So I took her to her safe place that she likes to walk. And before we backed out, I saw a bag that had blown into my driveway and I picked it up, threw it in the trash. There was nothing else in my driveway. We take the dog, she does her thing, we come back home, and when we come back home, I notice another piece of trash at the end of the driveway. And I'm like, damn it, why didn't I see that? Need to pick it up, help Mother Earth. So I walked over, and it was my dog who passed away's bandana. Oh wow. About two months before she passed away, she had jumped in the pool and the bandana got wet. So I took it off, put it down, got distracted, forgot about it, and it blew away. We haven't seen it for like four months. And it was just sitting there, dirty, dusty, looking like trash at the bottom of our driveway. So I was like, wow, that is a message. And then that night we went to dinner. We were talking to the bartender there, and she was telling us about her her kids. And people like never tell us their kids' names, but she's like, I have three boys, Rip, which was my dog's name. And so I'm like, okay, this is confirmation. The universe is telling me, or she is telling me, that she's still with us, looking over at us and wanting us to be well.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I love that. I love that so much. That is such a beautiful sign from the universe. And interestingly, as just I don't want to take away from your story, but you and I can see each other on screen right now. Yes. And you saw my cat jump on the table behind me. Yes. Which she never has never done before. And my cat reached up, and what you can't see is on the wall. I have three tarot cards that have little necklaces around them. They're not necklaces, but they're little just charms. Charms. And I have Death, the Empress, and the Moon. And my cat just jumped up, stretched out, and tapped the death little charm, and then sat back, looked up at the the ceiling, and then jumped down.

SPEAKER_00

That is really cool. That feels like support from the universe for this show, for the continuation. Like that is so cool.

SPEAKER_01

I just I thought it was very interesting. And I actually I took a picture of our screen to send my husband because it was just her timing is is just so interesting. It's sexual. She has never jumped up there before. So I apologize. I'm not trying to take away from your story at all. I just kind of feel like adding to it in a way.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, you definitely added to it. And I will say because as you just shared, we can see each other. And a little while ago, I did see an orb fly up on your screen.

SPEAKER_01

I did, I saw that as well. And it what's what's really cool is making these connections to just kind of the unseen and unspoken world. For me, having my cat jump up and and tap that is not just symbolic for, you know, the forward movement of this podcast being positive, but it's also forward movement outside of there too. You know, when when things are challenging in life, sometimes you just need a cat to show you that you things are gonna be okay.

SPEAKER_00

Definitely. And that cat energy does come with that curiosity and that mystical aspect about it too. Yeah. That's really cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And that was my cat chaos that you just saw, just so you know.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, chaos. I've been talking a lot lately about chaos too. So, and stepping away from the chaos and finding the calm. Yeah. So I think that is a great place to end this episode. Again, we are gonna be coming at you with so much information. Maybe we'll be revisiting some topics from the last podcast, but with a slightly different twist. We'll be bringing in guests and we're just gonna stay open. We're gonna start asking better questions.

SPEAKER_01

And if you guys want to hear any specific topics or you want us to explore any questions that you have, just shoot us a note, send us an email, comment on a post, and just let us know. We're here and we love explorations.

SPEAKER_00
