On this week's episode of Whispers from the Mist, Conversations from the Spiritual Byway, today we are exploring UFOs, UAPs, and the mysteries that continue to make us ask questions. What has the government actually acknowledged? And why do some of the stories get taken seriously while others are dismissed? In this episode, we are going to examine two fascinating encounters. So listen in as we share these stories along the spiritual byway.
SPEAKER_01I'm Stacy, and with me is Michelle. Hi, Stacy. How are you today? I am well. How are you?
SPEAKER_02I'm excited. I'm really excited about the topic we are going to share with our listeners today. But before we jump into that, I want to talk to you about public restrooms now. But just briefly, because a couple weeks back you shared a story about being in the restroom and the automatic towel dispenser just going off when you were the only roo person in that space. Do you remember that? I do. And it happened yesterday too. Oh my gosh, I don't know how people or energies can get that machine to go off so easy because I had gone into the bathroom, came out, washed my hands, and I tried to get the towel machine to work and I couldn't. And I'm waving it, I'm doing a dance, my hands in front of it, under it, and I could not get the towel to dispense. And I'm like, even energy can do it, even a spirit can do it, but I can't, apparently.
SPEAKER_01So yours, what I'm gonna suggest is maybe it wasn't a you problem, maybe they were out of paper towels.
SPEAKER_02No, I finally got it to work. So I can't even say they were out of paper towels. I just can say it was a difficult machine, maybe.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yep. It was it it was a difficult machine. I'm going with that too.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I like that a lot. So I just wanted to share that before we jumped into our topic, which is UFOs. Extraterrestrials. Yes, and our timing couldn't be better on this, really. To start off this episode, though, I do want to ask a question. And the question is this why are people becoming comfortable discussing spirits, intuition, and paranormal experiences while conversations about extraterrestrial still feel so taboo? Why do you think that is?
SPEAKER_01I think a lot of it is honestly fear-based. I think that when we're talking about extraterrestrials and things in space, we're talking about things that we don't fully understand and that might make us feel very small. And humans are so fragile, anyways, that when you're talking about the difference in understanding paranormal, which is another, like spirits are human, essentially, stepping into extraterrestrials and UFOs and things that we don't understand, it gets scary because we don't understand it.
SPEAKER_02And it is so vast and it's so broad because if you think of our one little planet in the middle of our solar system, in the middle of a Milky Way, in the middle of like billions of Milky Ways, we know we're not the only ones out there. I do believe in life outside of Earth.
SPEAKER_01I don't want to say that there are people that are closed, the people are closed-minded, but I think it's really closed-minded to believe that we are the only species in the entire universe.
SPEAKER_02And I think it's also a form of protection, too, because the thought of that can be scary, especially based on what you see in Hollywood adaptations. You see movies like E.T. in which this little alien that's so sweet and kind becomes a science experiment. And then you see other movies where we're being attacked, or other movies where they're mastering us like puppet masters or something. So that is scary to think about.
SPEAKER_01Well, I also think that there's this kind of gross human capacity to take things that we don't understand and turn them into experiments. You know, I think E.T. was your prime example there. And I and I think it's a great example, is the second one that we see something or experience something that we don't understand, we have this tendency to destroy it because we want to understand it. And in understanding it, we have to experiment on it and we have to do things that we would consider inhumane to another human, but it's okay because it's not a human. It's not human, right?
SPEAKER_02Right. And that's a really good point. And right now the government is in the process of releasing certain pieces of evidence to further help us understand what may be out there. But what they're releasing, they do not refer to as UFOs or unidentified flying objects. They refer to them as UAPs, which stands for an unidentified anomalous phenomenon. I think there are many reasons behind the government changing the term. I did read somewhere that every UFO is a UAP, but not every UAP is a UAP. Because UAPs are not limited to things you see in the sky. They can be things interdimensional and they can also be things that are found in the sea. And so the government has expanded that to UAP to include everything.
SPEAKER_01Well, and again, I think you and I talked about it in a previous episode. What is it, less than 10% of the ocean we've actually been able to explore? So even on our own planet, we have not been able to really begin exploration in areas that are outside human reach.
SPEAKER_02Well, with the government releasing things on UAPs, you know, one of the reasons is that they created a different definition is they wanted to capture a lot of or a broader audience of things, like we talked about. Uh, the reason they use UAPs is also because they want to remove the stigma caused by like Hollywood or, you know, people who are thinking it's just not something studied. It's just something, oh, a UFO. It it sounds more educated or more advanced, maybe.
SPEAKER_01It it sounds less like someone who doesn't know what they're talking about or fear-based if we use other language around it.
SPEAKER_02Right. It releases a stigma that we put on what a UFO is. And it also, by switching that term slightly, moves it more away from the idea of a sci-fi movie into something scientifically based.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02We have UAPs now, and the government is releasing them in batches. They just released batch number three, which is fascinating. And they are doing this for certain reasons. They are releasing some information to us, but they're not releasing all information to us. Right. So do you know the information or have you done research on the information that they are allowing us to have right now?
SPEAKER_01I have not done a whole lot of research on what they're letting us have, but I will tell you one of my favorite bands in high school, one of the lead singers in the band, he he wrote a book about UFOs and extraterrestrials and what the government was kind of keeping from us. It's from Blinkwinning Two, Tom DeLong was a huge, huge, huge backer of like wanting more information. And that's just a random aside that I wanted to share with you, but you've got my curiosity piqued too.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Well, what the government is sharing with us right now is really an acknowledgement that UAPs exist and they have been observed. So all those videos out there, they're true. They're acknowledged. It also seems that they want us to know that they have been detected by visual observation, radar, infrared sensors, and military systems. Some encounters have occurred in restricted military airspace, and many of the cases remain unresolved. So UAPs may present a national security concern. And they are doing this also to have increased transparency between the government and we the people. So those are the reasons that they are releasing the information. And that is all they're willing to acknowledge right now. So no official confirmation of extraterrestrial visitations, no official confirmation of contact with non-human intelligence, no official confirmation of reverse engineering programs that involve extraterrestrial technology, and no public proof that any specific UAP is extraterrestrial in origin. So they are telling us that we've observed something, but we can't explain if it's extraterrestrial or science from somewhere else in the universe that is being tested.
SPEAKER_01So that's actually pretty hysterical if you think about it. We are telling you something is there, but that's it. That's all we're giving you. Something has been looked at and seen, but nothing else is gonna be sure. It it gives you this like I don't even want to say false sense of like security, knowing that, oh my gosh, like these things really happen. It it's almost like this just tease. Like whenever you have a two-year-old and you're like, we're gonna go get cookies, and you only give them like a quarter of the cookie. And they're like, but wait, like why why are you just giving me why why am I only getting a piece of the cookie? I want the whole cookie, you know?
SPEAKER_02Exactly. That's transparency, right? I have a cookie, it could be yours, but like maybe not all of it right now. So yeah. It's actually pretty funny. They're teasers, it's like a movie trailer or something that's like, here, all this information is coming to you, but we're not gonna tell you the part you really want to know. Like, are there ETs? Right. Are we reverse engineering? What you're seeing is legitimate.
SPEAKER_01Well, and it's so interesting to me, too, because I know several people that were in the in the military, in the Navy specifically, and they were out to sea for months and months at a time. Again, less than 10% of the sea has been explored, and they have some stories. Like, but when you talk to them about it, very intentionally, they will say these these stories were not allowed to be talked about, you know, when they were still serving, when they were still in, because of the stigma around extraterrestrials and unidentified flying objects, as you call them UAPs now. The the stigma around like if I tell you I saw something, you're gonna think, you're gonna say I'm crazy really changes anybody's willingness to even share the experiences that they've had.
SPEAKER_02And that's so true. I mean, even thinking about opening up spiritually and opening up to the idea of there being spirits or ghosts or spirit guides, how long has that taken me to be comfortable with and to open up to a podcast audience or to my friends that this is who I am and this is how I see the world? I mean, you get judged. You just do. And I would have to think the same happens when it comes to UAPs.
SPEAKER_01There are some some stories, military stories, and I know that you have, I I believe you have one to share, but there are there are many different stories that you can research where people actually were thrown in prison because of what they were saying. I I don't have a prime example of that right now off the top of my head, but I I have seen different stories where people come forward because they see something and they and they want some sort of acknowledgement and they get in trouble for it.
SPEAKER_02And that's never fun, especially with the military. And you're right, I do have a very well-known case that I've done a little bit of research on. I wrote it out in story form. So please feel free to interrupt whenever you want to make a comment because, you know, I'm just gonna read it. It's easier for me. My brain is moving so fast right now, my mouth is not moving quite as fast. So I have a place to focus. So the case that we're gonna talk about is something that happened on the USS Nimitz, which I told you it's called the Tic-Tac incident. And I chose this because this wasn't just somebody looking up at the sky and saying, hey, I saw something weird, which happens all the time. This actual incident involved Navy pilots, military ships, radar systems, and footage that was later acknowledged by the Pentagon as being authentic. It took place off the coast of Southern California near San Diego. This particular day was beautiful. And by beautiful, I mean the ocean was calm, the skies were clear, and the pilots from the USS Nimitz carrier strike group were out doing routine training exercises in their FA 18 Super Hornets. Now, that's like talking a foreign language to me because I don't know anything about the different planes. But what the pilots didn't know was that for several days before this, radar operators aboard the USS Princeton had reportedly been tracking unusual objects. According to these reports, the objects that they were seeing would appear at about 80,000 feet and then they would descend towards sea level in just a matter of seconds. So that's quite a drop. That's not a roller coaster I would want to be on. Yeah. So whether you're interested in UFOs or not, at some point you have to ask yourself why trained military personnel kept seeing something unusual enough that they felt they needed to investigate. So Commander David Fraver and other pilots were sent out to take a closer look at what was going on. And believe me, this is not something I'd want to investigate, but I'm not a trained military person. So I'm kind of chicken. And right now is where the story is going to get very interesting. When they arrived, one of the first things that they noticed wasn't the object. It was actually the water below them. Even though the ocean was calm, there was a section below them that appeared disturbed, almost as if something large was moving just beneath the surface. Oh wow. Yeah, I know, right? To be clear, nobody actually saw the object enter or leave the water. So we don't know if the disturbance was the object or if it was just a coincidence, but I don't think it was a coincidence. But it's one of those details that stuck with me because it raises more questions than answers. Hovering above the area was a white object, unlike anything that the pilots had ever recognized. Fraver later described it as looking like a giant tic-tac mint. It was smooth, it was white, it was oblong, and it was roughly 40 feet long. There was no wings, there were no rotors, and there was no visible exhaust. I I can't even imagine what that would look or feel like to see in the moment.
SPEAKER_01So for our listeners, as Michelle was describing this thing, I I looked over and I have its selenite, but it's kind of the same color that you described and the same shape that you described. So I'm sitting here and I'm just looking at it and imagining this thing just kind of flying around.
SPEAKER_02I know, with nothing to propel it forward. You're not seeing anything that's causing its movement, nothing keeping it in the air. That would be really freaky. It would be very freaky. So one of the things when looking at this case that I keep coming back to was is this some kind of aircraft? And if so, how were they flying it? How did they enter it? And how did they power it? Because there didn't look to be any place, doors, hatches, anything like that. According to the pilots, the object moved with incredible speed and agility. Fraver described it almost like a ping pong ball darting around while remaining completely controlled. And as the pilots approached the object, it appeared to react to them. And then it just disappeared. So the pilots go up to it and it's gone. How how does that even happen? One of the details that Fravor has talked about over the years is that the object later appeared near a predetermined rendezvous location called a cap point. And for him, that was just one of the strangest parts of the whole encounter. Years later, infrared footage associated with this incident did become public. And in 2017, the Pentagon confirmed that the footage was authentic and it was military footage. Wow. Here's where discernment comes in. So in this case, the Pentagon confirmed that the footage was real. They did not confirm that it was extraterrestrial. And I really think that is an important distinction. There's something that's not in outer space. Yeah. Um, more than 20 years later, people still debate what happened on that day, wondering: was it advanced technology? Was it something we still don't understand? Was it just a misunderstanding or something else? And honestly, I think that's why this case remains so fascinating, not because it proves anything, but because more than 20 years later, we're still asking the same question. What did the pilot see? Right. And you can't tell me it wasn't extraterrestrial in my heart. You can't tell me that it was something of this earth, of this planet. Right. If they're having, you know, discussions with the Pentagon, the Pentagon's acknowledging it for getting part of it.
SPEAKER_01That's there's no there's no question there. Like they it has to be something that's not from this world. Right.
SPEAKER_02I just found this case very interesting because it is a case that the Pentagon can control the narrative too. We have military pilots, we have infrared technology, it's on video, so it's coming from trained US military personnel. So I find that very fascinating because when I was jumping into the research, I found that the Pentagon, the world is quicker to acknowledge that when it comes from a trained professional than where most of the these videos come from, which are people like you and I. We see something in the sky, we see something abnormal, we take out our camera.
SPEAKER_01And who are we? Like who are we? Who are we? And and why should they believe that we are seeing what we're saying we're seeing when you do, but it it doesn't seem to matter though, at the same time, because you do have these trained military professionals that are saying this and it's still being debated.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. But they're having hearings about it and it's being recognized. So I'm just making that point because the next story that I'm going to share, again, I've written it out.
SPEAKER_01This one is a good one.
SPEAKER_02I like the story, and it does have a little bit of a personal connection there too. The second case that really caught my attention happened in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2023. So this incident happened almost 20 years after the Tic Tac incident. And what makes this case so interesting is that it's almost completely opposite from that incident in the way that there were no fighter pilots, there were no aircraft carriers, there was no advanced military operators. It was just a family, an everyday family, working outside in their yard on a truck. Now, the story begins on April 30th, 2023. It happened at approximately 11 50 p.m. local time. Time, which again was Las Vegas, Nevada. At that time, more than 20 people across several different states reported seeing a bright green object streaking across the sky. It was seen in California, Utah, Nevada, and I believe Arizona. I don't have them all written down. It was also seen by a Las Vegas metropolitan police officer who captured it on his body camera. So we already know that something unusual was happening in the sky that night. So what do you think so far?
SPEAKER_01I I think that this is one of the most intriguing things. And I love that you've got so much depth to it because it happened over such an expanse, like an expanse of locations that so many people were able to report it too.
SPEAKER_02Yes, there were over 20 people who reported it. And then about 40 minutes after they reported it at 12:38 a.m. in the morning on May the 1st, a 911 call came in from a person in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a teenager and his name was Angel Kenmore. And according to Angel, he had been outside with his father and his brother. They were working on a truck when they saw something fall from the sky. He reported seeing lights, he reported feeling an impact, and then he reported hearing footsteps. It's 1230 in the morning. It's dark outside.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02This would not be somewhere I'd want to be. So he calls 911, and this is where the story takes a little bit of a more dramatic turn. Angel told the 911 operator that there were two beings in his backyard. Those beings were not six feet tall. They were not seven feet tall. But according to his best estimate, they were somewhere between eight and ten feet tall. Oh. I know, right? He described them as having unusually large eyes, large mouths, and features that just didn't look human. Now, listening to the 911 call, because I have, it's interesting because he doesn't sound like overly excited. He doesn't sound like someone who's trying to go viral or to sell some sort of hoax. He sounds frightened. And whether he you believe what he saw or not, that fear comes through in the call. You can hear it in the call. Not a call I would like to make.
SPEAKER_00Nope. Because again, people are probably thinking this person's crazy.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I guess it again, we're we're stepping into my opinion of being closed-minded about these things too, a little bit, because it d did he sound crazy though, or did he sell did he sound like somebody that saw something that they didn't understand and they're trying to figure it out?
SPEAKER_02Yes. I and that's what I think, and I believe that's how it came through. But in your mind to make that call, you must be feeling like nobody's gonna believe me. Here I live in Las Vegas, you know, this crazy city. They probably get calls like this all the time, but I have a problem here. He did sound frightened in that call. But he made it. And two police officers were dispatched to their property. The officers did search the property and they looked for evidence of a crash. They were looking for debris and also looking for signs that something had landed there. But unfortunately, they found nothing. There was no wreckage, no spacecraft, and no obvious evidence of extraterrestrial life. And honestly, this is where it gets a little bit tricky because while the Las Vegas Police Department closed the case, which they were very open-minded about, and so open-minded about because one of the two officers saw the green light himself in the sky. So when he came to the house to investigate, he didn't dismiss it. He didn't say this is crazy or we shouldn't investigate. I think he said something alongside along the lines of, oh man, or oh my. I I saw this also, and now there are reports of extraterrestrial life.
SPEAKER_00So I just want to say that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but at the same time, from my understanding, they didn't do very much with it after.
SPEAKER_02No, they they just kind of walked around and they didn't see anything and they closed the case. But for Angel and his family, this case, it wasn't over. In later interviews, Angel remained remarkably consistent in the story that he shared. He spoke about his anxiety now, the sleep issues he's having now, and the fact that he feels paranoid after the experience. He described feeling physically frozen in the moment as if his body didn't want to move, which if you look or hear other cases of extraterrestrial alien interaction, that is something that comes through. So I just pretty consistently. Pretty consistently. Yes. He also talked about feeling something energetic coming from that particular area. And then he also described the beings as being perhaps a little angry and reported sounds of them growling or hearing something along that line. His explanation has evolved over time because at the time he was definitely camp, this is extraterrestrial, but now he just thinks it was maybe a demon or something darker in nature. He doesn't quite know how to explain it other than it was not human.
SPEAKER_01So I I have no response for that. It's that's an interesting. Why would we be more comfortable with saying that we watched a demonic presence than we would be saying it was extraterrestrial? And that that is, I think, one of the biggest things that I'm taking away from everything that you just shared. It's like, why is that more okay?
SPEAKER_02I know that goes back to the beginning of this episode. Why are we more comfortable with the idea of ghosts and spirit guides than we are with extraterrestrials or something of that nature?
SPEAKER_01I mean, for it to shift from an eight-foot, essentially like extraterrestrial being into, oh, it was just like a demon. I I feel like I don't know, I'd be more freaked out by a demon.
SPEAKER_02I think I would be too. And I'm sure whatever it was was angry. Like they just got in a crash. Now, how are we gonna explain this? What are we gonna do to clean this up before these humans really start dissecting everything? So Yeah. Yeah. Well, this family, they did eventually release the footage that they had. Some people do believe that they see figures moving in the shadows, while others believe the critics, the debunkers, that it's just an effect of lighting or the construction equipment was there, or people seeing patterns that don't exist. So you're gonna have both camps there. You're gonna be the ones who want to prove it's valid and the ones that want to debunk it. To this day, people continue debating what the footage actually shows. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department later did come back to the property and set up cameras. People question why that happened, but the family felt a little bit threatened, a little bit under attack by something unknown. They still were claiming they were hearing something or feeling something that didn't feel quite right. Yeah. So they did put cameras up. Eventually they did take them down. Meanwhile, of course, the public interest exploded, and the family eventually had to put up no trespassing signs because it became a site.
SPEAKER_01I'm not surprised because I know here where I live, we have UFO festivals because of experiences that have happened very local to me. Two individuals were taken from an area close by, and there are sites in my town that people actually go to annually to visit because they are so popular.
SPEAKER_02I can't wait to get into that in the next episode. I hope you're gonna share more about that.
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah, I'm definitely happy to. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But places get known for their activity and they become just a spot on the map. Let's stop here. Much like haunted locations that you hear about. It is true. Well, interestingly enough, the Pentagon never officially called this story a hoax, but they never endorsed it either. When the Pentagon was asked about it, they referred it back to the local law enforcement. So, unlike the Tic Tac incident, there was no Pentagon-confirmed military footage, there was no radar data connecting the event to a craft, and there was no trained military witnesses. But what this call does have is a 911 call in the moment. We have witness testimony, we have a police response, and a family that remain consistent in their account. I think that is a really important debate to have when looking at situations like this. You know, does a military personnel, military experience, supersede just the average everyday experience? Because I guarantee you, the average everyday experience is happening much more often.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That we as just everyday humans with our phones accessible, our cameras accessible, we are catching things up in the sky that we can't explain. And I know I've personally had an experience like that. I will also share where this 2023 incident in Vegas is concerned. I was in Vegas about a week after this, and I didn't know anything about it. I hadn't heard about the incident yet. But it was really strange because when I was there, I was seeing t-shirts, I was hearing sayings, I was seeing like beer cans with aliens on. Aliens were a theme there. They were everywhere. Right. And then I think that night I looked at the news and I saw that this had just happened. So for me, being in the energy of it, there was definitely a feel of something going on. The universe was telling me that, but I hadn't heard that incident until after I was like, what's going on? Why do aliens keep appearing?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That is wild. It's wild and crazy. And, you know, I think that the government perhaps needs to do more in addressing the everyday person's caught-on their experiences because they happen. Yeah, they do. Maybe that's something we explore in the next episode.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, let's keep the conversation going. I definitely have some stories to share for sure in the next episode.
SPEAKER_02Well, I'm really happy that you do because I feel like I've spent this whole episode talking or trying to tell stories and you've done a wonderful job, and I've actually found it fascinating.
SPEAKER_01Great.
SPEAKER_02Well, let me see if I can find three questions for our listeners. Here's one. Listeners, does the fact that trained military pilots witnessed a story make the story more credible? The second question is, does unidentified automatically mean extraterrestrial? And the last question is, what do you think about extraterrestrials? And if they are proven to be true, how do you think you'll handle that news? Those are great questions. I like those questions. So with that, think about it. And we are gonna pick this topic up next week. So, Stacey, do you want to close this episode? Yeah, absolutely. Stay curious. Trust what you know, and we will meet you along the spiritual byway. Bye, everybody. Thank you so much. Thank you so much for taking the time to be here with us. Wherever you are in your journey right now. Just know you're not alone. We're here for you, and we're all in this together.
