The holidays can stir up tenderness, grief, joy, and exhaustion all at once, often asking more of us than we feel able to give. In this compassionate holiday meditation, listeners are gently guided to slow down, soften expectations, and reconnect with their own humanity in the midst of the season’s noise. This practice invites a pause from comparison, obligation, and pressure, offering space to meet yourself and others with kindness, patience, and understanding. Whether you are navigating family dynamics, loneliness, overwhelm, or quiet gratitude, this meditation offers grounding support and a reminder that compassion includes you too. A peaceful companion for the days when the holidays feel heavy, complicated, or beautifully human.

In this week's episode of Becomes and Adventure Spirituality, we invite you to our holiday meditation. Of course, this meditation is gonna honor the beauty of the season, but it's also gonna address the chaos of the season and where to find that balance. We'll give you a moment of pause and time to reflect. So, with that, let's please get this episode started. Hi everyone, it's Michelle from Three Cups and A Dasha Spirituality, and I am so grateful that you're here with me today.

Before we begin, I really want to speak to the reality of this time of year. The holidays can be beautiful.

All right. Now that you've arrived here, let's begin to gently settle into stillness. If you're able to, let your body find a position that feels supported. Somewhere that you don't have to hold yourself upright with effort, and somewhere you can let the weight of this holiday season drop away for just a moment. Settle in and let your shoulders fall. Unclench your jaw and let your tongue rest softly inside your mouth. Take a slow, unhurried breath and through your nose. And exhale gently through your mouth. Feel the breath as it moves through you. It's softening your edges, and it's inviting your body to release what it doesn't need to carry. Bring your awareness now to the top of your head and imagine a warm, comforting glow beginning there. It's not bright, it's not sharp, it's just soft and perfect like the twinkle of holiday lights glowing in a quiet room. Now let that light gently flow down across your forehead. And as it does, allow it to smooth the tension that you didn't even realize you were holding on to. Effortlessly, now allow it to move around your eyes, softening your gaze even with your eyes closed. Let it drift across your cheeks, your jaw, your neck like warm light settling over snow. Silent, calming, and peaceful. Feel the warmth spread across your shoulders, melting away the heaviness that you've been carrying through this season. You don't have to do anything here. Just allow the soft glow to do the work for you. Let that warmth move slowly down your arms, through your elbows, your forearms, into your hands, and all the way to the tips of your fingers. And with every breath, feel yourself becoming a little more anchored, a little more present, a little more held. Bring that gentle glow into your chest now, right into the center of your heart. Let it rest there. Let it settle, and let it spread warmth from the inside out. You don't need to rush. You don't need to do anything perfectly. You are arriving. You are softening. And you are safe in the stillness. When you feel ready, we'll continue deeper into this moment together. So now that your body is beginning to soften, let's turn our awareness back towards your heart. Your heart has been working hard this season. It's been holding on to emotions. It's been holding on to expectations. Not only the expectations that you have for yourself, but for the ones that are placed upon you by others. And it's been holding on to memories and hopes and moments you haven't even had time to process yet. Let it rest here for a moment. Imagine that warm glow in your chest. It's steady. It's gentle, like the soft flicker of candles on a windowsill. It's a quiet reminder that even in the busiest season, there is a place inside you that remains still. As you breathe here, feel the space around your heart expand. Let it lighten, let it open, let it soften in a way that feels safe and enforced. You don't have to rush this. You don't have to feel anything specific. You're simply allowing your heart a moment to be exactly how it is and to honor exactly where it is. Now, when you're ready, invite a small moment of joy from this season to come forward. A moment that is tiny, a moment that was meaningful, a moment that was real. Perhaps it's the glow of a tree at night, or the sound of wrapping paper in a child's hand. Maybe it's a warm drink in your hands, or a favorite song playing in the background. It could be the scent of pine or cinnamon that lingers in the air, or the cool sweetness of a candy cane. It could even be a moment of shared laughter. Whatever rises for you first, trust it and hold that moment gently in your heart. Let it warm you from the inside out. Softly whisper thank you. Now let that gratitude expand. Let it touch your very breath. Let it settle into your body, and let it remind you that even in the rush, there are always moments of stillness. Now, widen your awareness. Push it beyond yourself and push it beyond your own experience. This season is so joyful for many. However, it is tender and raw for others. There are people out there who are grieving and who are lonely. There are people who are feeling overwhelmed or they're missing someone. There are some people out there who are estranged from their family, and others who are just trying to make the best of a year that didn't go the way they had hoped. If this season feels heavy or different for you, breathe gently. You are not falling behind. You are not doing anything wrong. You are simply a human and you are having a human experience, and this is a season. If this season feels joyful, breathe gently. Your joy is welcome. Your light, it's needed. You don't have to hide it. Remember that both truths can exist in the same world, even in the same family, and even in the same heart. Now from your softened heart, allow a small act of kindness to rise. Something simple, something reachable, something human. Maybe it's sending a message to someone you've been thinking of, or allowing yourself patience. Maybe it's letting someone else go first, or lighting a candle in memory of a loved one. Maybe it's giving yourself a moment of rest or listening to someone without trying to fix something. Or maybe it's as simple or reachable as sharing a smile. But let the right intention gently appear. Hold it softly. There is no pressure to act on this immediately. Just let the kindness become a quiet part of you. Now place a hand over your heart. Feel your warmth. Feel your aliveness. Feel how much you've carried and how much love you continue to hold. And softly repeat, May I be gentle with myself this season. May I feel what I feel without judgment. May I honor my heart exactly as it is today. Let these words settle inside you. Let them land in any place that feels tired or tense. Now bring someone else to mind. Someone who could use a little extra warmth this holiday season. Picture them wrapped in soft, steady holiday light. It's warm, it's comforting, it's gentle, and it carries a soft hum. And offer them these words. May you feel held. May you feel supported. May you feel peace. Let this blessing surround them in a way that doesn't drain you. It just extends quietly outward. Return now to your own breath. It's slow, it's steady, and it's soft. Let warmth fill your entire body. Feel it in your chest, your ribs, your belly, your hips, your legs, and your feet. And with each breath, feel yourself grounding more and more deeply. Allow yourself to settle into a sense of safety, a sense of presence, and a sense of being held from the inside out. This is your reset. Your remembering. You don't have to carry everything. You don't have to meet every single expectation placed on you. And you don't have to feel joyful every minute of the day. You are allowed to be human in a season that asks for magic. You are allowed to rest in a season that demands so much, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Remember that you, just as you are, you're enough. You are amazing. Now begin to bring your awareness back into the room. I invite you to wiggle your fingers, to roll your shoulders, and to take one deep breath. And when you feel ready, gently open your eyes. May your season be gentle, may it be meaningful, and may it be real. And may your heart feel held by your own tenderness and by the quiet warmth inside you. Happy holidays. And thank you.
