Hello everybody and welcome to this week's episode of Three Cups and a Dash of Spirituality. Let's finish the story with Bonnie and Michelle. They went on some fun adventures, so let's hear the rest of them. Go ahead and play the music. Hello, everybody, and welcome to this week's episode of Three Cups in a Dash of Spirituality. We are back with Michelle and Bonnie, who are going to continue their adventures. Hi Bonnie. Hi Michelle. Hi, Carissa. All of us are here. We're all here ready to chat. And I have nothing else to add because I just want you guys to continue the story.

I know. I don't even know where to start.

I guess we wake up the next morning, Bonnie finds her coffee, she's feeling a lot better. We get in the car and we we drive to Tonapah to Nevada. Did I say that right, Bonnie? Yep, I think you did. Tonapah.

Tonapah. It was awesome. It was a really cool drive. I'm from Florida, so I don't see the mountains. And I couldn't take my eyes off of them, to be honest. Like I'm like, oh, look at that one. And the donkeys on the side of the street. Yeah, all the cacti and area 51. We also drove through Death Valley. Ooh. Interesting. And then we stopped in a little town. What was the town that we stopped in?

Oh my gosh, I can't even remember.

That old hotel. And there was a welcome center that had porta potties that we had to stop at.

Oh, that was um, oh my gosh, I can find it real quick. While you're looking, side note, I I have been told that a lot of those famous, like whatever, like you're just talking about Area 51s, they're not fun to visit unless they're doing a big like thing, like, you know, UFO like weekend or whatever.

Um so it's like it's just it's like going pretty desolate. Yeah. I'm like, what do people do out here?

They live and they just do their lives, and then whenever they happen one week in the year, it's huge.

So I felt like we were driving through history. The ghost town that Bonnie was talking about was called Goldfield. And on the way back, she was doing research on it. And in the early 1900s, it was like the biggest city in Nevada, or one of the biggest cities, most bustling, hustling cities in Nevada. But 20,000 population. It was desolate. I mean, they had a couple of restaurants open, but there wasn't a whole lot there. Interesting. So we arrived in Tonopah. We got there a little bit early. Our rooms weren't quite ready. Of course, Bonnie taking her Carissa vibes in or something, asked for a haunted room on the fifth floor, and she got it. So I'm like, that's definitely something Carissa would do. And then she looked at me and I'm like, no, I'm okay, not in the haunted room. Just put me somewhere else. You gotta have some entertainment, right, Bonnie?

Yeah, yeah. It was it was an active room.

Yeah, it was a very active room. But again, our room wasn't ready. So we had a chance to walk through the area. And I just have to say, and this is totally not related to ghost hunting or anything, but I thought about Carissa a lot because when she travels with us, she's kind of picky about where she eats. So as we're coming in, there's this huge sign about the best Chinese food. And Bonnie and I like, we both like Chinese food. Let's go find this place. So we asked the hotel clerk about it, and he's like, No, I don't even know why there's a billboard. It's been condemned by the health department. Oh, do not eat there. Oh, like, oh, Carissa would be gagging right now. Oh no.

Yeah, it was nasty. That's actually really funny though, but good on him for telling you and not being like, oh, let me give you directions.

And interesting about Tonopah, it is an old silver mining town. And that's where its hustle came from, like all those years ago. It was second in silver production at the time only to Virginia City. And so at the end of town, there's a graveyard for miners, but right next to that graveyard is a clown hotel. Hotel. No. Now that is haunted.

No. No, it was creepy as hack.

I know I've heard of this, and I I think I've seen it on something somewhere somehow because you're saying it and it's like raising like these like alarm bell memories.

But no, yeah, no, that's what I said. Yeah, we walk there. There are clowns on the outside of it. It's a very colorful hotel. And then at the end of it, they have their little gift shop museum that is just filled with clowns from all over the world. We're welcome to take pictures of them. And I'm like, this is my worst nightmare.

I mean, if they had a restaurant, I would probably be like, let's go in and eat at this awful restaurant just so we can experience that. But that would be the extent of the amount of time that I would spend in a clown hotel.

Some of the doors were open, so I'm like, Bonnie, we should go look in there. But then I got scared. And so I'm like, you can go look in there and tell me about it.

Were they were they busy? They they they were colorful. There was pictures of clowns on the walls. No, but were there a lot of people there? Oh, I'm not sure. I'm not sure.

I did see several people walking around, and there was another group of tourists that had their dog there that went in and looked at the museum. The person working in the museum used to live in Las Vegas, I believe, and he, I don't know how he ended up there, but maybe appropriate for him.

And when we went into that museum, we found that they did also offer ghost tours of that location. Unfortunately, we were only there for one night and we were already committed, but I I will fully admit that that is something that I would absolutely pass on.

I would not do it. Nope. Well, and it don't look very clean.

Oh, that would be. I wouldn't stay there. I would go if I were going back, I would do the the tour there, the ghost tour at the clown hotel, just to see.

I you are braver than I am, Bonnie, and I respect that. No, thank you. No. She is brave. She is. Okay. Anyways, continue the story. Sorry. I'm focusing on clowns too much.

So from there, we walked down. They have a brewery that's been open since the 1900s, had a little lunch, and then we went to the hotel, could check in. So I went to my room, totally frustrated. Here's a very good piece of advice for people ghost hunting. Make sure you know how your equipment works, or you're gonna spend hours frustrated that you can't get it to work. And that's what I was experiencing.

Which one was it?

What quick it was my new SLS camera. Um, I just was charging it wrong because I had to reach out to the maker once I got back. And he's like, No, when you charge, you have to make sure the power source is on and it had been off when I was charging. I would do something like that. Yeah. So I'm sitting there totally absorbed trying to get this fixed, and Bonnie's up in her room having experiences from the minute she walks in.

Oh, tell us, tell us, tell us.

Uh well, immediately my K2 meter went off. Like it was just off the charts. When Michelle came into the room, we started kind of like taking pictures and just checking things out. I have a digital camera that I was taking some pictures, and I have a chair in my room where I was like, I just feel like I need to take pictures here. So I did like my three or four in a row, and you could see the shadow moving behind the chair. And it was like about the height of a child.

The interesting thing too is like she walked into her room. She had two K2 meters that instantly the whole time lights are up. I walk in with mine, nothing.

Can you tell us about the K2 meters? Because I don't know anything about it.

SPEAKER_01 8:18

It's a meter that has a range of lights that light up when electromagnetic um energy comes close. Cool. Now I thought maybe my room just had a lot of energy in that was just random, not paranormal at all. But when Michelle brought hers in and hers wasn't lighting up, it just felt really strange. Because if there was a lot of extra energy in the room that's not paranormal, then hers would have been lighting up as well. So I don't it's hard to it it was a very interesting experience. And I I don't know that it's completely paranormal. You know, I I always try to debunk it because I try to do. So I'm like, is it is it my phone? And it was it was just like so active and I don't know what it was from. But Michelle's wasn't doing it, would light up every once in a while, but not the same.

Did you did that? I'm assuming it's a little kid, did it come out again or did anything wake you up in the middle of the night?

We had some photos of orbs in my bathroom.

So And the interesting part about that, and I'm sorry to jump in, Bonnie, but Bonnie sat down on our bed. She's like, take a picture of me. And so I did, and she's looking in the bathroom, and there's activity. So I have pictures of her sitting there looking that direction, and there's so little activity. I would not have thought to pull out my camera at that moment had she not felt it. A few minutes later, I'm like, take a picture of the curtain, and we caught orbs there too. Interesting.

At night, I didn't have any activity except there was a moment where I jolted awake. And I'd I have a I'm not sure if it's because my AC shut off or turned on and it jolted me, but I was instantly terrified. Like my body just tensed and I couldn't, like I didn't want to move. And it took me a while to kind of like come down. So I feel like there was maybe some energy that popped in. I set up a camera while I was sleeping. I ran out of memory and I didn't have it on. I didn't have it on the right setting, so there was no dang.

Dang it, because you know. Oh, Biddy. You know, she probably got she would have gotten some good stuff, and I wonder if something turned that off.

Yeah. That's what I think too, because I've had that experience with Carissa before trying to set up a ring camera, and it worked fine, but she could not set it up in that location.

It is well known that that spirits can drain electricity, yeah. That's that's one of the most very common things. So yeah.

So next time I'll make sure I'll I'll try it again, but I wanted I wanted to see what would come through. Unfortunately, it's that that technology I gotta, you know, get that straight away. But that was the only time I felt anything in my room and it it was pretty strong.

We did before, I think it was after dinner actually. Maybe it was it doesn't matter when dinner was, but I was coming up.

Just kidding. I kind of want to that the place where y'all ate looks beautiful. It looks lovely. It looks very beautiful.

It was, and we'll talk about the actual hotel itself in a minute. But I was coming up and my SLS camera was working for just a second, and I step out and I'm like, oh, there's something right there, because it showed up immediately on the fourth floor. And I tried to get out my camera, but it was like hidden behind something, and then my camera died. So I'm like, Bonnie, I just had this experience on the fourth floor. So we went out in the hall on the fifth floor, and in the video, because I was videotaping, you see a black orb come in and it drops into one of those stick figures. I don't know what else to call it, and it was very, very active. Interesting.

Yeah, that was one of the best pieces of evidence I think that we caught. Because just like you could totally see that orb floating all the way from the top of the door frame all the way to the floor, and then just popped into this anomaly. And it it was like, I said, okay, can you can you stand up? Because it looked like it was kind of crouching, and then all of a sudden it starts reaching for the sky. And silly me, I'm like, How are you? Yeah, I think that's me. It disappeared. But then it came back.

Well, but then it came back. When did it come back? So it's like you, it was like, wait a second, you see me. I'm out, but then it came back. Yes.

Yeah. So it danced around for us a little bit, and that was right before we had to get to our ghost tour. So we're like, okay, we're gonna come back.

But we did stop on the fourth floor on our way down, and I said, Bonnie, I saw something here. So she pulled it out and it took a minute, but he reappeared. So I think it was a female on the top floor, a male on my floor, a child in the room. And we got to introduce you to these ghosts and who they say is haunting this hotel.

I love talking to the ghost. On the fifth floor, they say that the lady in red. Lady, so did y'all meet lady in red?

SPEAKER_01 13:27

Yes.

So that's where my brain went to.

The lady in red, beautiful song. But yeah, she she definitely showed herself. Our camera was pointing towards her working doors, so where she would do her working. So and that's where we had that anomaly come through. So she definitely showed herself.

So she she was a lady of the night, is what she was.

SPEAKER_00 13:52

Yes, the myth or the lore behind that is she was a lady of the night, and one of her friends thought it was a little more serious between them than she did, and he had left the room and he had missed whatever he had to do. So he went back up to the room, found her with a man. When the man left, he killed her.

Yeah.

So that is the mystery of her. There's also said to be a U.S. senator there by the name of P. Pittman. And there's several different stories about him, but the the lore of him is he was running for re-election and he passed away just before the election. But his election team didn't want everybody else to know. So instead of admitting he had passed away, they put him in a bathtub with ice at this hotel until the election was over, and then they could name his replacement.

That's that's the mystery, and that's the work. But I feel like I read somewhere that he actually died in a hospital.

Yeah. They would definitely cover it up if it was true.

That's what I was saying.

And so then we headed downstairs to go on the ghost tour. They took us underneath the hotel, and there were so many people on this tour. There were at least 20 to 25 of us. They only had one elevator that could get you downstairs. So the first group goes downstairs. She goes up to get the second group, but Walter, the elevator man, decides to mess with them. And instead of taking them downstairs like they were told, they go upstairs. I didn't think about it. We all kind of laughed about it. But later that night when we were working with the spirit box, the name Walter came through.

Oh, yeah. And at that point, he appeared on our XLS camera. Yeah. Yeah. As he said his name, which was really cool. Michelle sitting on my bed and I'm just videoing this, this Walters just hanging out with Michelle. Just hanging out.

And then finally started getting a little like you should come sit with Walter.

Can I pause for my own clarification? Because you keep referring to an SLS camera, and I actually don't know what that is.

SPEAKER_01 16:06

Is it like infrared kind of thing? Infrared. And then it uses an Xbox play unit along with a um a tablet of some sort. So they finagle this somehow and they create it so that it takes a video of all the stuff. And if you see, like even if you're in frame, it'll show your your your body as a stick figure. So that's the anomaly. So when a spirit comes in, you won't see the body, you just see the the stick figure.

Okay. You said that earlier, and I was like, what is this thing? Thank you. Thank you for that clarification. Because I I was trying to figure out what it was. So thank you.

I know we need to do a whole episode on the equipment that we use. That would be amazing. I gotta make sure I know how to use it. Okay, I apologize. Back to the story. So no, we went on the tour. We were surprised at how many kids were on the tour. Under 12. There were quite a few kids, and we had a dog too. Okay.

I mean, maybe they were all excited. They were so excited.

I mean, it is this paranormal stuff. It's very hot right now, especially in the younger with the younger kids and TikTok and everything and Zach.

SPEAKER_01 17:28

Yeah. Right. So on the tour, I I got quite a few photos with orbs. I didn't experience any sensations or anything like that while we were doing the tour. I I was taking lots of just digital photos and seeing what we could catch with those. Michelle, did you have any experiences?

SPEAKER_00 17:51

I didn't have any like experiences, experiences down there, the orbs a couple places. I felt my head like something swipe through it, or that it got a little bit cold in that place. We did go up to the conference room. It was either on the second or third floor, and the lady shared the ch uh the story about the children who roamed the hotel. And apparently one of the working girls had a couple of kids, and when she was busy, she couldn't really watch them. And so one of them went out on like the balcony and fell off. And one tried to save it. So two of the kids unfortunately passed. This is a story, but they're said to run the hallways and giggle. And that brought Bonnie and I right back to the Veliska house and the fact that when we we were in there, we heard little kids giggling, and it is the most unsettling feeling. So I'm like, I don't want to hear giggling or running up and down the hall. Oh, I wish I could have had that recorded. Yeah. Yeah, I know. And then when we were in the room, and this kind of goes back to the sound I said we heard, this buzzing started. And it was while we were in the room, then the tour broke up. We went down, we decided to go do our own thing. And as we're going up the stairs on level three, this buzzing starts again. And it's like moving all through the hotel. And I'm like, this is so weird. Like, where is this coming from? Then we moved up to the fourth floor. It got louder. And then to the fifth floor, it got louder. And so we're trying to call downstairs because we're wanting to do some of our own investigating. Nobody down there heard it. Nobody knew it was going on. The front desk didn't have any idea. So I'm thinking, are we crazy? Are we like the only ones hearing this sound right now? But they came up and they they made some excuse for what it was, but it was very, very and then it stopped. And then it stopped. And then it stopped.

Yeah. Once it was about to be a little bit more.

But it sounded like it was following us. We were walking down the hall. I it sounded like it was just this bubble of noise just following us. It was weird.

And they're like, well, maybe it was the pipes. It is an old hotel. And I'm like, maybe not. But so that was a really, really cool experience, Chris. You would have loved the hotel for its charm. I do. It looks really pretty. It was a hotel that was built just to give people a little idea about the history of it. 1800s. Yeah, built in 1907. It had its grand opening in November of 1908. At the time, at five floors high. It was the highest building in Nevada. It was built by a senator and three businessmen who just wanted a cool place to conduct business. So it hosted all the elite. And then the hotel was closed to the public, closed down, shut down from 1911 or sorry, 1999 to 2011. So it was deserted. And then a family, their names are Fred and Nancy Klein from Sonoma, California, bought this. And they didn't buy it. I read an article on it. They didn't buy it because it was going to be the easy turnaround, let's make some money thing. They bought it because they had connections to that area and they just felt it needed to be restored and enjoyed. And come to find out that they are the owners of Klein Vineyards. So the wines served there are the Klein family wines.

Oh. Yeah.

I thought that was cool.

I think it's a really cool history. The town looks really cool. There's a mining museum. There's a stargazing area. There's another ghost tour, like if we said the clown uh museum. And then we just didn't have time to do all this stuff. I would love to have seen the mining museum. I would have loved to done a stargazing night because that would probably have looked really cool. Yeah. That would have been dark.

And I will just share before we wind up that there was one minute when we were up in Bonnie's room and she mentioned that the shape of whatever was on that camera did not look human. And so we instantly kind of stepped into. I mean, we're close to area 51, that alien energy, perhaps. Can't be proven. We just were wondering what that could be.

Yeah, it was interesting, interesting, very cool experiences. Yeah.

I would recommend anyone to go there. It was just quaint. It was fun. It wasn't scary. I mean, I know you had a few moments, Bonnie, where you were caught off guard. I didn't have any, I didn't have any experiences in my room, but they did say on the tour, watch your jewelry, watch the things you value, because the lady in red is known to take them for a little while. So I'm like, I'm not taking off my earrings or my necklace or anything. Like I'm sleeping with everything on, including my watch. And sometimes the lady in red will leave a pearl on your pillow.

No. Yeah. I I don't know how it would feel if I came back or or woke up and there was a pearl in my bed on my pillow. Like that, that might, that would probably freak me out a little bit. That sounds like a fun adventure.

It was. And I am so excited. Like I love my little group of friends here. And I'm so excited about the adventures we're gonna go on because we have a lot of things that we're thinking about.

So I'm going to so Seattle. So y'all come, whoever wants to go with me. Come on. I bought the ticket and I texted Michelle and Stacey. I'm like, I'm going to Seattle. So if y'all want to go come with me, you can. Yeah, I'll be there. I'm going. Oh, I wish I could.
