Three Cups and a Dash Podcast
In this week's episode of Three Cups and a Dash of Spirituality, we're going to be talking about FES, forced energetic shifts, and so much more. Stay tuned. Hello and welcome back to Three Cups and a Dash of Spirituality. I'm Carissa, and we've got Michelle and Stacy. Hey guys.
unknownHello.
SPEAKER_03Hello everyone. How are you?
SPEAKER_01And we are gonna talk about what you call it stay time.
SPEAKER_02Okay, which like huge forced shifts or giant energetic shifts or horse shit or energetic shits.
SPEAKER_00Michelle and I heard it totally different.
SPEAKER_03We did, but really what we are going to be talking about out of all those options are going to be forced energetic shifts with an F S. Yes. I got that out of the cloud for you.
SPEAKER_01Good job. Good job. Good job.
SPEAKER_03Okay, well, Stacy, since you came up with that term, and I'm gonna throw you under the bus, would you like to explain what you mean by that?
SPEAKER_02Absolutely not. No, of course not. So an FES or forced energetic shift is when everything seems to be going wrong and you are pushed to do things that perhaps you were putting off. Um a great example or slowing down, or you know, things that when we step into and and we look back at our lives, these are those moments where we literally stop and go, WTF. Like, how could everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong? And it made me go in a different direction. So I look at these these FES as a redirection from the universe, basically saying, Hey, hey, you're starting to get off path. Let me nudge you back. Hey, hey, you're starting to make some not so great life decisions, and you're you're kind of you're you're teetering off a little bit here. We're gonna nudge you back. And just as an example, a couple years ago, I was hardcore overworking in every area. I don't do that anymore, guys. Um, I was really I was really overworking and really, really, really, really uh just overextending myself in all areas, uh, physically, mentally, spiritually. I was non-stop. And the universe kept giving me little mudgers, like, hey, you need to slow down. And it would be like a cold, um, or you know, uh the flu. So I would be out for a week. Well, finally, the universe was like, hey, if you don't slow down, we're gonna force you to slow down. And I ended up having to go in for surgery and be hospitalized with um, it's called an angiomyolipoma or like a benign tumor that was pushing on my kidney so I couldn't function. And it forced me out of work and out of basically all of my life for weeks, not just a week or two, like weeks um to basically re-real, I'm gonna say relax and reset. And I was in so much pain, but that is my best example of a forced energetic shift. What about you guys?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I've told my guides do not give me health issues to give me an FES. Do not. I am a baby, I can't do it. I mean, I've got a bunch of them, but one I can remember, well, I won't go into too much personal detail, but within every marriage, there's always a crux, there's always a time when the two of you have got to sit down and really accept who that other person is and how to negotiate and have a new contract on your marriage. And it doesn't have to be that big and dramatic, right? But almost every marriage goes to that. And my husband and I were going through something, and I'm a runner. I just wanted to leave. I'm like, I'm done. I don't want to, I know I'm a therapist, but I'm like, I don't want to deal with this. I'm over it. But that's my, you know, you have your fight, flight, or freeze, and mine's flight. Like, I'm out. See you later, dude. And my guides, I remember sitting on the couch, I was by myself, and I was like, this is it. And they, it's like they had, and I looked at the door, and they had it's like they had their energetic hands on my shoulders saying, No, you're not gonna go anywhere. And they put a song, all of a sudden, my phone started playing a song that was telling me what was happening in the relationship. And I said, I started crying, and I said, Fine, if that's what you want, I will stay. But I mean, it was really hard, but wow, I grew so much from it. And that's one of those FES where it's where they said, you're not leaving, you're staying because something is gonna come out of it. And we do, we have such a great marriage now because I stayed and worked on it.
SPEAKER_03And it's such an important thing to remember, too, that those clues or those stop buttons, whatever you want to call them, they can come in many different ways. For Stacy, it was being physically ill for you. You heard a song, and it's just about our ability to listen at that point and realize what's going on. Like I love when Stacy was talking about the forced energetic shifts and how that can indicate whether we are on or off pathway, but our pathway, on or off. Why can I talk? You got it, you got it.
SPEAKER_01You save her, Stacy, save her.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I was enjoying it this time. I can't save her every time. Okay, so if we are on or off path, but for me lately, I have been stepping into this time in which I think they really want me, or I don't think, I know they really want me to re-establish some energetic boundaries. I consider myself a very kind person because I believe kindness is contagious, and that's how I approach my life. But I have been in three situations lately in which that's how I approached the situation, but I was met with people who didn't listen to me, talked over me, didn't respect what I was trying to say, the point I was trying to make, treated me like I was nothing.
SPEAKER_02And it's really better check ourselves or machine. I am like I am so sorry.
SPEAKER_01Get it's not bad. I'm so sorry.
SPEAKER_03About the two, you being those people.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm getting I know one that you you told us about, and I'm just like, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh.
SPEAKER_03It really feels like bullying. And so when it happened the first time, it's like you just confronted my worst fear, which is people not taking me seriously and thinking I'm a faker phony just by needling. She never said that with her words, but that's how I felt.
SPEAKER_01But the subtext, yeah.
SPEAKER_03But the subtext.
SPEAKER_02And you don't need to say I disrespect you flat out with words. It's it's it is it is the subtext, right? That's where the power kind of really comes from. Yeah, yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_03And then subtle, covert messages, and then it happened like two other times, a short amount of time that I knew it was a message, it just feels different when I step into awareness and say, no, they are wanting me to learn something here, they're wanting me to still be kind, but push back a little. And so these days that you're talking about my guides right now is who I'm talking about. Yeah, the universe. When I think about the whole situation and being in front of these three people who their messages have all made me feel small, I need to take a look inside. I need to see what I'm bringing to the table that makes that okay in their minds and maybe do some inner child work or go back to shadow work. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. That's just shadow work is essentially inner child work. I can explain that later.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, and I love what you just said, Michelle, because one of the things that you said is that sometimes we allow these things to happen and this behavior to be okay in other people. And that's kind of like it sounds like that was almost your Mac truck, this this realization. Like, what in me said it's okay for you to treat me like that? What did I like? What how am I showing myself to the world? Like, what am I appearing as that you think it's okay? Or what in you is thinking it's okay too.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, and I like how you say, because a lot of times it happens all, you know, when it rains, it pours kind of thing. When it happens all at once, it's that's when it's we have to wake up and go, okay, here, what's the message in this? The message is how do I be kind but firm energetically too? Because one thing, you know, when you were telling me about a situation, I was like, ooh, um, I would that would have been me, but and but it no, the best thing to do with those people is silence. The best thing to do is to not fight back, and you have that gift, so I think it's like energetically, how do I come across as kind but firm? Like you can say whatever you want, but it it bounces right off of me, dude.
SPEAKER_02Well, and I think one of the things that can happen too is you step back and you're like, you know what? I'm gonna love you where you are, but I'm not going to allow you to treat me like that.
SPEAKER_03Right, because it sat in my energetic field because I wasn't in the moment that it happened, one of them, two of them. The first one I was GCP'd, I hadn't GCP prior to it because I didn't expect it. And it sat in my energetic field for two days and brought me down. And that's not fair. It's not fair to me. And I shouldn't give another person that power over me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but that means there's something to learn from. You know, when we're affected for more than a few for more than an hour, yeah, I hear what you're saying. That's a trigger, and yeah, that's child, uh inner child work stuff, which is super easy to do.
SPEAKER_03Okay, well, Carissa, would you like to explain to the listeners what inner child work is and what shadow work is and how they're like how they're different?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so the way I work with clients is I enter typically somatically, because somatically takes you straight to the unconscious. And I go through somatically their body, you know, tapping into the sensations around the current trigger. And then I let my intuition guide me. But sometimes typically I'll say, is there a younger part of you that's connected to this? And and they typically will bring up a younger part of them, like a five-year-old, and that's connected to this current trigger. And then I'll say, Well, what's the memory? And then I take them through how to reparent that younger part. And it take, it can take three minutes, it could take seven minutes, but they come out feeling empowered because what they've done is they learn how to detach from that younger part. So that younger part is the one that's triggered. And so when we can do the inner child work, we detach and we look at it from the functional, wise adult, and we love it and take care of it. So now we're not triggered by it. It's like we detach, we're not fused with that wounded part. And that's part of our shadow work, is that's all those memories we've just pushed down and not looked at. So, and it's super easy. It's like when people come to therapy, it's like you're gonna get this, you're gonna do it. And then they're they're off and they're they come back and they're like, you're never gonna be able, you're not gonna be able to. See, now I can't talk. You are not going to believe what I did, Kervaza. There we go. If I do it and sing in a song, I can get it out. Was that singing?
SPEAKER_02That was one of the strangest versions of singing I've ever heard, but I'm I'm here for it. So they come when they're healed because they sing to you in weird words. That's exactly it.
SPEAKER_00That's it. That's what you pay for.
SPEAKER_02There you go.
SPEAKER_00Done. So, did that make sense? Did I did I get it all out clearly?
SPEAKER_03And it does make sense. And I worked with a wonderful psychic medium about a year ago. And a lot of that where it kept being pulled back in our sessions was to that inner child and the shadow work. And she explained it in such a way that I'm like, I get it. Finally, for the first time, I get it. And the way she explained it was that's who you were then. That person was doing the best they could with the circumstances, they didn't know any better. So you need to love that part of yourself. You need to accept that that's a part of who you are and part of your journey that has gotten you to where you are now. And I carry that with me all the time, and I am so grateful for that advice.
SPEAKER_02Well, I also want to throw out there one of the things that you just said is something that I've said to a lot of my clients actually, um, when they're working through something and they're healing, is when we can take a step back and realize that despite circumstances, most of the time, and I can't speak in like sheer black and white on this, but most of the time, the people in our lives are coping or doing the best that they can with what they have to work with. Does that always serve us? Absolutely not. I mean, that's that's just the reality is is sometimes the best somebody has to offer isn't what we need. And the other thing that's really been flowing through my mind that I'm gonna throw out there is, you know, I really appreciate that you guys both shared your examples of these FESs, as it were. Because I think one of the things that I would like to say is if we don't listen to the small nudges or those repeat occurrences or the you know the the pebble in the windshield, as it were, they do become huge, they become big problems. They like for me, I ended up hospitalized because I kept going, nope, I'm good. Nope, I'm good, nope, I'm good. And it just adds to it, it just keeps going.
SPEAKER_01I could have left my husband if I hadn't have felt and listened and tapped in, or I would have written off that song all of a sudden playing on the phone. I mean, that's to break to just blow up a family unit, huge, huge, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And when they come in, it's our job to recognize them and respond accordingly. Because had I not recognized that trend, I might have been in jail or in an institute dealing with this new self-doubt I had, or this feeling broken that I had. So once I realized there was an issue, and again, when you step into that realization from a soul level that there's a message going on here, it feels so different. It feels manageable, but it puts the responsibility in your hands too. So it's you're working with your guides, your universe, and those things you need to to heal yourself.
SPEAKER_02And well, it's empowering.
SPEAKER_03It's empowering. Yes.
SPEAKER_02The the example that you're using and in learning from the people in your life, it that to me is so, so, so empowering. And Carissa, your example of that song and actually feeling it is so beautifully empowering and really does it examines this ability that we have to kind of tap in and tune into the messages that come through every day. They can be as simple, like for me, I love seeing repeat numbers. I love it because they don't mean anything to me other than a little nod, you're on the right path. When I start feeling off, that and I don't I don't see them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and you don't feel alone. I love that you you sit and you pause and you listen to your guide. So things become manageable, like you said, and you don't feel alone.
SPEAKER_03And you really do discover what inner strength is in those moments because I say this to everybody because I'm kind, because I'm quiet, they think they're going to break me. A lot of people have, and that's such a sad statement to say. They want to see me cry, they want to see me break down and not get back up. But I'll bend, I will not break, and I know that about myself, and so that is an added strength that the spiritual journey has helped me accept, realize, and I know it's always like in my back pocket. I it's always there and has my back.
SPEAKER_01You might not just that too.
SPEAKER_03Uh oh, what would that be?
SPEAKER_01Of a tree.
SPEAKER_03I have one.
SPEAKER_01I have one of a willow. Oh, you do well, kind of.
SPEAKER_03I have part of the giving tree, but that's my memorial tattoo. So the only leaves on it are like people who have passed away in my family.
SPEAKER_01I saw the willow tree, but I don't know what the willow tree represents.
SPEAKER_02So I don't know. I was just gonna say, Michelle, if if things like this keep happening, you're gonna find a Carissa and a Stacy outside your door. And we are gonna be like, we are gonna, we're gonna be marching and we're gonna be beating some people up.
SPEAKER_03You know, and I'm so happy that you said that because really for me, one of the biggest things I have realized is I don't want other people to be fighting my battles. Like this one incident that happened, my first response is Rob, you call and you deal with this person because that's what he does for a living. But then I'm like, I don't want to ask my husband to fight my battles. I don't want to run to my mom and dad and say, they hurt my feelings. I need to build that up in myself. And I think that's really part of the lesson the universe is trying to teach me. It's a hard lesson because I don't even like to step on a bug or anything, but yeah, it's hard.
SPEAKER_01But he's a good backup. How about that? He's a good backup to handle it when no one's worse, push, come to shove. Your husband's a good backup, though.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and as realistically person, I can't show up at your door to go beat people up, but we want to, and we are more of an energetic support. Right.
SPEAKER_03And you guys have the gift of voices that I will listen to when I'm feeling down, you build me back up. I remember calling Stacy after one of these things happened, and she just put it in a perspective that's like, yeah, and I think it was about you're giving her way too much power. She bullied you, that's what she wanted to do, and now you're giving her the power to ruin your day, knock it off. Yeah, knock it off, yeah. And when I don't listen to people just talking in their nice voices, they get firmer, they sing.
SPEAKER_02So Carissa just taught us that. When we can't think of things, we must sing them.
SPEAKER_01So if anyone, the takeaway to anyone starts to bully you, just start singing at them. I think they'll probably then think you're crazy and leave. So they'll leave you alone.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that would probably be the case and what would happen.
SPEAKER_02Do you want to know what I always recommend to people whenever they are stepping into like a really like confrontational space? I I always I always urge them to step into gratitude as often as they can. So I and and I love this example because we all are married, and I I I'm gonna I'm gonna say you guys have fought with your husbands, right? No, at some point.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we're married. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, exactly. So I have always recommended to a few of my clients that have issues with stepping into confrontation because they're they don't listen to themselves and they're not listening to the person in front of them. When you find that your blood pressure is going up and you are getting angry, step into gratitude. So if it's like your spouse, it's I am so grateful you picked your sock up off the floor, even if you left the other one behind. And it will end up making you laugh because you can't be angry and grateful at the same time. I love it. I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Sometimes angry gratitude, angry gratitude, right?
SPEAKER_02Angry gratitude. I'm so grateful for you doing this. It's and it it just it's it ends up you you have to laugh because it sounds ridiculous, right?
SPEAKER_03So does he end up laughing those times where you look at him and say, I know this is your stuff, so I'm gonna leave you alone with it.
SPEAKER_02I end up not saying it because it goes through my head and I end up laughing.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Have you ever said that?
SPEAKER_01Have I ever said what? What?
SPEAKER_03What I just said that I forgot. No, when you look at your husband and you're in the middle of a fight and you just look and say, This is more about you and your stuff than me, so I'm leaving you with it.
SPEAKER_01I mean, uh no, that would drop a bomb. I think that would escalate that would escalate and be like, Don't you therapise me?
SPEAKER_03Blah, blah, blah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Obviously, I've tried that and I'm sharing like classic therapy.
SPEAKER_02I was gonna say I had to slow down on doing stuff like that, Carissa, because it turned into like I'm so condescending. And I'd be like, I haven't really thought about what I was trying to say.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, when I went to school to get my counseling degree, woo, I we had, yeah, I stepped over way too many lines. And then when we got into couples therapy, they're like, that is a little somewhat of abusive to psychoanalyze your spouse. I'm like, oh, I like that. That's uh that's interesting. That's true, it's true, right?
SPEAKER_03Well, I was gonna say they're stepping into gratitude, which is the most wonderful advice because you just find that little piece of something you can hold on to. Yeah, I found that does work, and other times, and I know this is a topic for a future episode, I do call in the archangels too, because each angel brings with them a different um area of expertise. And so I find that too, and just ask them to guide my words. Please guide my words. Don't let me say anything I'd rather request.
SPEAKER_02Athena, guide my words.
SPEAKER_01See, yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_02But there's more to it than that.
SPEAKER_03Okay, this is gonna be kind of an experiment, and it may not really translate well here. But as the three of us are talking, I have something that keeps popping in in my uh peripheral vision. And I'm wondering, can you guys tap into that? Because it is so quick and so brief. I I can't see what it is.
SPEAKER_01No, I got something sexual at first. So let me uh that's my sexual little mind going in there right now.
SPEAKER_03I'm still thinking about your tattoo.
SPEAKER_02I'm thinking about your tattoo. The cum on her foot. So um I have been, I've had something popping in in my space as well. Out of the it's it's been right in front of my my light on the right side of my desk. And I that's exactly where mine is too.
SPEAKER_03And we're in different places. We don't have video to be looking at where everyone is. It's to my right, and there's a light right there, and it keeps coming in and out, just really quick. I can't make out what it is. Yeah. So okay.
SPEAKER_01And I think that's just probably there to point out that there is the intuitive connection. What do y'all think? No, I'm not seeing a blinking light.
SPEAKER_02Ah, Carissa's not connected. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and it's not a blinking light. If you're looking for a blinking light, it's not that. It's a blinking, like not even blinking, it's a like a soul or something that's coming in. It's like a shadow, like a shadow.
SPEAKER_02Uh Carissa's too focused on sex right now, so I don't think she's gonna see the I know.
SPEAKER_03She's gonna go find her husband with this episode's over.
SPEAKER_01I'm so glad he is not gonna be listening to these podcasts.
SPEAKER_03Well, maybe he will and he'll surprise you.
SPEAKER_01No, no, because I'm not telling him the name.
SPEAKER_03My husband is so funny, he keeps asking to be a guest, and I'm like, No, he's like, Yes, I said, what would you talk about? He's like, Well, I don't know, but I could talk about something, and he is very funny, but again, this is not really his area of understanding. Expertise. What I will say about that is he has been around me long enough to see things happen, to hear my experiences, but he doesn't get it completely.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, which I'm sure you all can relate to also. Yeah, my husband has joined piano clearing and we went out to dinner after, and he sat in silence for like five or so minutes, and he finally looked up at me and he said, You know, Stacy, I know you did something, and I know they felt a difference. I just don't know what you did or why.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they have to have they have to understand it, they had to have the concrete facts, and you know, they it's like they believe and they they're curious to listen. But when it comes down to it, if you don't have those concrete facts, they're not gonna and that's exactly what I said.
SPEAKER_02I said, you know what? I said, number one, I really appreciate that you were there. Number two, I'm so glad that you noticed something, and I can explain it to you if you want, or we can just leave it alone. And he was like, nah, I just don't get it. And I was like, that's fine, you don't have to. And it was like this beautiful way of him actually honoring me, and it went both ways. It was great.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I remember this lovely this one time I was outside, and we have a hot tub, and I was in the hot tub by myself, nobody else was out there, the dogs weren't out there, Rob was inside, and I use that time to say my faith talk and to talk to my guides, but I don't do it in my head, like I am talking to the universe.
SPEAKER_01And you say it out loud?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like my mouth's in the house while you're walking around.
SPEAKER_01You say it out loud, talking to the house.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but I wasn't the I was in the hot tub. I was alone at this point. Like if someone was in the house with me, I wouldn't, but I was alone outside in the hot tub. I didn't think about the fact that maybe he's looking out like what's she doing. So I came in and he's like, uh, you were just talking to yourself in the hot tub shell. That's kind of weird. I said, I wasn't talking to myself, I was saying my faith talk and talking to my guides. And he's like, Okay, I get that. And I can appreciate where you're coming from, but if we have company over, don't do that. I said, I won't. I know my audience. I didn't even know you were watching me. So yeah. Have you had anything like that, Carissa?
SPEAKER_01No. I just could see his face if I did that. He would just like a deer in headlights. Like, what are how do I react exactly? He'd probably like just disappear in the other room, I think. Like, you know, slowly backing up. Like, I think she's lost her mind.
SPEAKER_02Finally, see, it sounds like you guys are actually very gentle with your husband. Mine, on the other hand, is thrown into like the bonfire. My my dog. So one night my dog went nuts, and my husband was like, What is going on? And I finally like I tapped in and I was like, Oh, there's just a dude in the hallway, it's fine. And he went, What? I was like, Oh, it's just a text hole, it's cool. Like, I'll I'll carry it. Just give me a couple minutes. And so, like, all of a sudden the dog calms down, and we're just like, I had just moved on with my day, and he was like, um Stacy is is it still there? And I was like, Oh no, it's it's gone, we're good. And he was like, Oh, okay, and he just he had no idea like how to say or what to do. He was like, Oh, okay, like cool, thanks.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, my husband, my when we my grandfather died, and the night of was it the night before? I think it was the night before his funeral, my grandfather was trying to speak and he's he was trying to say something and out loud, and my my husband and I were sleeping in the bed in the house, my grandparents, and even though he heard my grandfather, he still won't believe it. I said, I said, Did you hear that? And he he was frozen, like he's like, I said, Honey, honey, I shook him. Did you hear it? Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01And I and I got up and I ran to go check on my grandmother. He's they still won't. It's just it's kind of scary, I think, for them.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, and when you don't fully comprehend, like for I guess for me, having somebody show up in my in my hallway is like it's like you know, just another two three freaky, yeah.
SPEAKER_01For them, it's freaky.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
unknownPoor.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we are always supposed to, you know, ask permission before we share anything. And yeah, sometimes when I see something, I still get so excited I start pointing at it, and my husband's like, I don't see it. What are you talking about? So I I really do think like fun stories with our husband could be a whole episode or series of things. Because yeah, poor guys. So before we wrap this episode up, I just have to ask Stacey, has it jump sides the thing in the room? Are you now seeing it from your left side?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, it's it's it's like it was uh pretty much on the on the right, and then I turned and yeah, it's definitely moved to the the left. It's fine. It's just an it's an energy, it doesn't feel like anything major.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, maybe just that connection. This is the life we live. And yeah, I hope you listeners understand that when something pops in, we're gonna acknowledge it. So bear with us and love it, and yeah, share your comments with us too, because we now have a website, okay? Okay, super simple. We're spelt out three cups in a dash, okay, and on Instagram. Instagram, and we do have an email address also. All this information is in our show notes. So if you have a question, we want to hear from you. Uh, we will answer it in a future podcast. We are so excited to be here. And with all that shared, take it away, Stacy.
