SPEAKER_02

On this week's episode of Three Cups in a Dash of Spirituality, the ladies are answering your questions. Download and listen on anywhere you listen to your podcasts. And with that, I'm gonna say play the music. Hello and welcome to this week's episode of Three Cups in a Dash of Spirituality. With me today are Carissa. Hello, but is Carissa and Michelle?

SPEAKER_00

Hey guys, how are you?

SPEAKER_02

Good, how are you? I almost started singing Let Me Clear My Throat.

SPEAKER_01

Hi Carissa. Is that a sexual song?

SPEAKER_02

No, it's just about when I said your name, you started clearing your throat.

SPEAKER_00

Let me clear your throat. Is that a let me clear my throat? Did you really just say that? Well, it sounded like well, I had an experience and we were talking about this in a recent podcast, but I think my guides were messing with me and they cloaked something the other day. Oh so either they cloaked it or I'm going crazy. I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_01

They cloak stuff.

SPEAKER_00

And the reason why I'm thinking it was cloaking is because I had a dinner the night before with my mother-in-law. She was there and I was talking to her about cloaking. And then the next day, my phone disappeared twice where I couldn't find it. And the second time it was on the charger that I don't use. And I'm like, what the heck? So do you think that's what it was?

SPEAKER_01

That's what they've done to me. I had a pair of blue jeans that I could not find. And my my laundry room is small and I would hang them up to dry. Finally, after two weeks, I said, Okay, I'm gonna go buy a new pair. And two weeks later, so a month later, there they are hung up. Of course. Of course.

SPEAKER_02

Have you ever had anything cloak, Stacy? Not off the top of my head, but I've seen it so often with other people that it's very entertaining. Like I was meeting with somebody this past week and they were telling me, I don't know what happened to my keys. Like my keys for work, my keys for my car, like I'm using my spares and I'm kind of freaking out because I need to buy my keys. I know they're in my house, don't know where. And my response was they're going to be in the dumbest place you can possibly imagine, somewhere that you don't even remember going, because this is what the universe does to get our attention. Sometimes it's to force us to slow down, sometimes it's to force us to, you know, pause. And sure enough, you found it in the laundry closet.

SPEAKER_00

Amazing. Yeah, I I love that you shared sometimes it's to force us to pay attention to slow down. And I think really this was a confirmation for my guides because I had just had that conversation with you guys a couple of weeks ago, then with my mother-in-law. And so I think they were just like, we're still connected, even if you're doubting, even if you're busy and distracted, we're still here. And yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And so I did have to throw out to the listeners too, if you would like to accept this challenge. Have you ever had a cloaking experience? And if so, what was the weirdest place something had been cloaked? And if you want to send that to us, you can through our social media or through our email address.

SPEAKER_02

And we'll share on a future episode, which would be really cool. That would be really cool. And I think I love hearing stories. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I love hearing stories too. And I think that's the perfect segue into this episode because the listeners are asking and we're going to be answering today. This is another round of listener questions, and we've got some good ones in here. So I'm really excited to talk to you all about them and uh get your opinions out there, what you think. Let's do it. Okay. Are you ready?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Born ready. Okay. Here's the first question. I meditate often, but I find I get distracted when meditating. Do you have any pointers in how to stay focused?

SPEAKER_02

I don't sit still. When I meditate, I'm doing other things. I'm doing house chores. I'm folding laundry, I'm doing dishes. I'm actually, you know, allowing my brain to focus on something else while meditating because it keeps my me having ADHD, I need to keep moving. So it allows me to keep part of my brain focused, and the other part can wander and gather information. That's actually the only time that I've able ever actually seen my guide, seen, seen, was when I was doing that form of meditation.

SPEAKER_00

And we have talked in past episodes about when you're going into a reading, that's when you start cleaning the house, and that's where the information comes through. So I have shared that before.

SPEAKER_01

How about I do I do my mantra every morning? I mean, it could be simple as ohm, but or it could be something more complex. Oh my. Because, and even when I do the mantra, my brain may go over here and then it comes back, and that stimulates your vagus nerve when you do the um, so it can relax that and bring you back, bring it into parasympathetic nervous system, the relaxed state as you step into meditation, yes, mantra.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, otherwise, no, you do it throughout your whole meditation.

SPEAKER_01

Do you make the the hum or the okay omhadi? Okay, I never said that.

SPEAKER_00

I've never did that.

SPEAKER_01

A little note popped up and it said playing music question mark. Where is that?

SPEAKER_02

I I will say if I am sitting, if I'm uh which which does happen, I will sit and meditate and try to calm my brain. I I actually put on, I use an app that plays mantras and I'll just listen to one on repeat. And that does really help just get the focus in and and sitting still. What about you, Michelle? What do you do?

SPEAKER_00

When I meditate, I have to go into a quiet place. I put on a mask, I put on music, not a mantra, just music that is soothing or is connected to angels. And again, I have to be absolutely alone. So I have that time to focus. And I walk myself into meditation and then I open it up. And there are a lot of times when I open it up, my mind starts running. And so one of the things I do is I try to concentrate on my breathing because I find when my focus is on my breathing, I can't think about anything else. And then also for those stray thoughts that get through, because they're going to get through. We're all human and we're doing the best we can and we're in this chaotic world. I will see it kind of like as I don't know, a pig flying, a butterfly or something. I'll have it come in on my screen. I'll acknowledge that something going on and say, thank you for showing up now, leave, kind of, and giving myself out and to recognize it and then let it go for that time being. So I do that quite a bit. I absolutely love Stacy that you talked about moving when you're meditating, because meditation is about how you connect to the world around you. And when you're walking, you can do that. When you're in the shower, maybe that's the time you do meditation. You connect really well with water. When you're standing outside and a breeze is up against your face, maybe that's the best time for you to meditate. So it's really about trial and error and finding the things that make you settle into your meditation.

SPEAKER_02

Love that. Yeah, I think that's such a great, a great practice because it's supposed it is. It is supposed to fit into your day and not take from it.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Well, the next question has to do with meditation, also. So do you ever see lights when you meditate? And if you do, what do you think those lights are?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, what kind of lights? I see images, I see. I really want to ask the listener, like what kind of lights? But yeah, I see lights.

SPEAKER_00

And for me, I jumped right into it because I feel like I'm exactly what the listener was thinking of. When I close my eyes and I am in that meditative state, it looks like the northern lights. Like they are just dancing all around me. And sometimes it's green and blue, sometimes it's white and purples. It just really, I guess I don't know what it depends on. I'm still trying to figure out what it is. But while I see those lights, a lot of times I have images come through. Like sometimes I see the image of like a person walking towards me, and I'm like, well, that's cool. That means somebody's here. I'm picking that up right now. So yeah, I don't know exactly what it's for. A lot of times I think it is my guides communicating with me because I see my guides as a color. There's a color associated with each of them. And when a color comes in, I'm assuming it's one of those guides, but it could have to do the chakras too. Stacy, what do you think?

SPEAKER_02

I don't get lights like that. I get messages and images are the only things I get. I don't get, I don't get lights. So that's very cool. Like again, it just goes to show how different everyone is when they meditate or get messages.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's very relaxing and intriguing. And I invite them in sometimes. If I don't see them for a couple of days, I start to panic. Like, does that mean I'm not meditating correctly? Does that mean I'm not connected? They don't want to communicate with me. So really that is an indication to me that I'm tapping in. And again, for me, I think it's my guides, but it could also be the different chakras coming through. Yeah, that's cool.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Well, here's the next question. My four-year-old just came home with an imaginary friend. What do you do?

SPEAKER_02

She's four. Nothing. Yeah, let's who who's your friend? Just talk about it. I mean, it doesn't have to be anything negative. It doesn't even have to be a spirit. It could, it could just be her imagination.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It definitely could be. I know I had a child who had an imaginary friend. His name was Jack. And Jack was in our household for a very long time. How long? Oh, five years, maybe. From what age to what age? I would say it came in around three or four and probably was there until nine or ten. Wow. And the way I really stepped in and handled it was okay, well, welcome, Jack. We have a seat for you, Jack. Jack, what are you doing? So I would kind of engage because I wasn't spiritually open back then. So who am I to say that there's not something there? And I didn't want to discount how my son was feeling in case there really was. And on top of that, you know, even if there wasn't, there's a reason this person is here. And so we need to kind of work through that. And it could have really had to do with the fact that there was a divorce happening, and that's when he brought that friend in for comfort to always have something or someone with him. But I loved having Jack there and talking to my son and hearing the adventures Jack went on. I would say set boundaries around it if you can. Like just say to Jack, okay, Jack, you're an at-home friend. So while my son is at work or at school, if he's doing what he's doing, um, you need to stay home and wait for him. And I didn't really find it harmful or weird. I knew my son had lots of friends at school. This is just somebody who was a little bit of comfort for him at home.

SPEAKER_02

Well, and I think the key that you just said is is so beautiful. It's a it can be a coping skill. It doesn't necessarily have to be a spirit, it doesn't have to be something, you know, that we are, I mean, as as you know, mediums, you're used to kind of dealing with the spiritual realm, but it doesn't necessarily have to be. It can be a coping skill, and that's perfectly okay. Right. And I love the boundaries.

SPEAKER_01

I know I was thinking that. That was brilliant.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you were a kindergarten teacher, right? A preschool teacher. So I did work with a lot of kids, and boundaries are always important. And I will say, I don't know what this person's experience is right now with her child, but as long as your child is safe, as long as you know things aren't going missing, you're not having an attitude problem or anything, just kind of work with it to see what's going on. If something does change where that happens, then maybe you take another look at it or take another approach to it. Maybe you get firm and say, absolutely not my space. You leave protective bubbles. I mean, there's so much you can do if something were to go negative.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Right. And I think the key is if something goes negative, that's when it shifts. If it's just if it maintains, you know, just an imaginary friend, it's you there's really nothing to do.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's not gonna turn into drop dead Fred. Do y'all remember that show, Drop Dead Fred? Yeah, a little bit. I don't think I ever watched it. It's cute, it's so fun.

SPEAKER_00

And I it was so funny because I was asking my child about this about Jack the other day. Like, I miss Jack, and you know, that's kind of really cool that he was there for you. And he's like, Oh, I totally made it up, mom. And I'm like, What? You made it up? And you know, then I start thinking, well, maybe now you just have been taught to think you made it up. Maybe you didn't, because I don't know. I don't know. Did he say why he made it up? He didn't.

SPEAKER_01

No, just said he he did make it up, and so but you never know, or you never know, and that's what he's saying, just to make himself feel more comfortable with the whole you never know.

SPEAKER_00

And a little bit of a side note here, too. My husband thinks I'm crazy. People think I'm crazy because when I'm dealing with like Alexa, is it Alexa or Alexa? Yeah, Alexa or Siri, yeah, always say please or thank you to them because I don't know. Okay, well, that's how you get a picture. And I always want to be nice and polite.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I took I took an AI course in school recently. And if you do say please and thank you, it will generate better answers.

SPEAKER_02

Really? Yes, it depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm spicy. The kinder you are, the more it'll it'll help you out.

SPEAKER_00

That's a lesson for another day, though. You got it. Questions to answer. Yes, we have questions to answer, little sidetracked there. Well, here's your next question then. What does it feel like when you are grounded? Can you explain that feeling?

SPEAKER_02

What does it feel like when I'm grounded? Balanced, like I feel balanced in, you know, all areas, kind of like a triangle, mind, body, soul, ready to be open to information. I think that's really the only way that I can explain it. Is it a physical sensation or just mental, spiritual?

SPEAKER_00

All of the above. How about you, Carissa? What would you say it feels like when you are grounded?

SPEAKER_01

Let's just give it one word and hopefully this'll have a bigger have a big impact. Quiet. Quiet.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that is a good good word to explain it.

SPEAKER_01

Quiet.

SPEAKER_00

What about you, Michelle? When I think of what it feels like to be grounded, I picture me calling in all my personal power, mind, body, and soul, kind of like you said, Stacy, bringing it all together and dropping it to my core and just feeling it right there. And it makes me feel more confident. It makes me feel like I can stand up for myself. It makes me feel like I'm ready to take on the world because what is that root chakra? What is grounded? It is I am, correct? That's I am the mantra. I am. And that's exactly how it feels to me. I just feel like I can stand a little taller, I can face the world, and I feel like physically, just like I don't even know how Chrissy gets quiet.

SPEAKER_02

I get this. That is that is the scientific term, ladies and gentlemen. I get yeah, ready to go. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And I just know that I'm centered and I'm the best of me, and I'm connected to the earth in meditation or before I meditate, I do always send roots down from my feet to ground into that earth too, and to go deeper with that feeling of resolve.

SPEAKER_02

Michelle, I love that you brought that mantra up because it is so, so, so, so powerful. That's also a really good meditation mantra because I am can center you, calm you, and bring you really, you know, into that moment. So thank you for reminding me of that. Because I that's that it is so powerful. And you don't even need to add anything on the end of it, which is why I love it. I am just I am.

SPEAKER_00

I am here. Yep. Okay, here's your next question. Is there a spiritual lesson that you can share that you learn the hard way?

SPEAKER_02

That it's real? Sorry, I wasn't trying to jump in on you, Carissa, but that I think that that was my hardest lesson is that that it's real.

SPEAKER_01

So I told the story about when I went agnostic for a while. That's weird, Stacey. You say that because I feel like that's mine too. And then all of a sudden they started cloaking and moving things, and and I'm sitting here. Well, I know I'm not crazy now. I really know I'm at the age and in my profession. But yeah, I guess that that is really interesting.

SPEAKER_00

I had a big spiritual lesson happen during a reading once. I was fairly new to reading, and one of the things that we all have learned is when information comes through, write it down because the reading is not about you, it's about your sitter, the person who is coming to you to get information. And I remember I was sitting there, I always meditate before I go into a reading, and I saw the image of a bat. And I was like, okay, well, that came into my last reading. So maybe I didn't clear everything out okay. So I'm not gonna mention this bat because they're gonna look at me like a bat. Like, isn't that anyhow? Move on into the reading. Reading is going very well. Several things came through, and at the very end, the lady says to me, I was hoping you would have seen a bat because that was a sign my mother and I shared. Oh I messed that up because and I think I've shared the story before. At the end of the day, you can't go back and say, but I did, I saw a bat, because then it lost all the power that it had in that moment. And so I took something beautiful away from this person because I couldn't get out of my own way. So that's the lesson I learned. And now, even if it's so random, I just jot it down and say it. And just if it resonates, it does. If it doesn't, oh well. At least I'm not taking a gift away from them.

SPEAKER_01

It sounds like mom came through in that reading before you did. Yeah. And then you got confused. She was like, I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready. But it wasn't her time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Well, and and you just actually you reminded me of a few readings that I've done and lessons that I learned too. And you just not to like jump in and and completely take over, but you reminded me of a time that I said cancer in a reading, and I was referring to fear being like cancer. I think those were verbatim my words. And the next day I received an email from my sitter saying, Did you tell me I was gonna get cancer? And my lesson there was to be very mindful of my language, much like your lesson was to be, you know, share everything that whatever it looks like comes through, even if it doesn't make sense to you. I learned, you know, that I have to be very mindful of how I put things to my sitters.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and that's one thing I always ask my guides before going into a reading is please give me the words that will resonate with them the best. Don't let me trip over my words, just let me say it how you want me to say it in a way that they're gonna understand. So yeah. We probably have time for one or two more questions. I don't know how we're doing on timing, but I'll throw one out there. So the question is, how often, if ever, do you change up how you protect yourself, your protection routine?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I changed up mine recently. And I need to do that meditation in um for the podcast too one day. But instead of, you know, I like to say, Spirit Guides, any energy that does not serve my highest good, and I see my bubble and then an extra bubble on the side, I say, I let 80% come in and I say that energy that's not for my highest good comes my way, is transmuted into abundance and positivity and love for me to use. And the remaining 20% is returned back to cinder because that's theirs to hold. That's theirs to deal with. I don't want to take away their growth, I don't want to send back love with their growth. No, it's okay. I'm not upset or angry. It's yours to hold, but you can't send it to me. Boundaries. I love boundaries, right? I'm a therapist, so that's right.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, you need to grow and work on your stuff. Stacey, when do you know it's time to change it up? And do you change the whole thing up or just certain elements at different times?

SPEAKER_02

The last time I changed, it's been it's been quite a while since I've changed mine up. The last time was when my guide came at me with a wooden spoon when I was in meditation and told me to cut the shit, basically. Your grandma in the kitchen, like slapping their hand with a wooden spoon. I changed when, you know, it's it's I'm told that it's time, but my protection is constantly moving and changing. So it's always there and it's always growing with me. So I I haven't changed it in a long time. And I and I I know it sounds weird, but I'm really lazy with certain things. And I think Oh, you're so busy.

SPEAKER_01

I think you got so many plates spinning. Yeah. You're the least lazy person I know on the well, thank you.

SPEAKER_02

When it comes to certain things, though, I I will fully admit that I tend to be really low-key. And I think my guides realized that early on that I wouldn't sit for I I don't have the 10 minutes a day to sit and do those things. So they finally got to the point where they were rolling their eyes enough where they said, fine, here, do this. And it it's worked for me since I started, you know, putting that energetic kind of movement protection in place. But yeah, so that's it's when they tell me I need to change it, I guess. That's a terrible answer. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_00

It's not a terrible answer, it's an awesome answer. And it inspired another question before I share when I changed mine. For how do I word this? When you're doing your protective routine, does it have to be long and drawn out, or can it be quick and to the point? I mean, it means the same thing. If you know what that meaning is, can you do it quickly and it'd be just as effective as if you took it?

SPEAKER_02

It all depends on the person. I think for me, if it's long and drawn out, I'm not gonna do it. Which is why they gave me the, I don't want to say the shortcut, but that's why I have the shortcut is because they knew that I wouldn't sit for that long.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I love those words shortcut too, because I feel guilty taking the shortcut, but there are certain times I step into a situation and I need it now, and I will do the shortcut. I do it with like symbols of like different things. So it kind of brings it in that way too. But I usually change up my routine when something keeps coming at me. Had a reading once with Stacy, and she's like, you need to be connecting to that moon energy. That's where you need to. And so prior to that, when I would go into grounding or moving that energy out of my space, I would always do it with the wind. And then I did it with moonlight. So I did change it up because that had been mentioned to me from Stacy and I kept hearing about the moon and other places. So it's like I gotta bring that in and see how it changes things up. So just when I remember that feeling, that nudge.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I want you to know that I actually use that as an example quite often when I talk to people who have a hard time grounding to Mother Earth. That maybe they're grounding to the wrong thing. Love it.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, thank you. That was like the best advice, and I think it was actually all steps. So I did completely move from Earth to the moon and grounded there, and then yeah, it was pretty cool.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Okay, do you think we have time for one more? I'll ask you this one, and I'm gonna ask you this one because I think we're gonna do a whole episode on this in the future. So this could be just kind of a teaser, but has living your spiritual path changed your personal views or feelings about death or dying?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yes, because I had the experience a couple of times of what it's like when you're on the other side and it's effing amazing. Now, am I nervous about the transition from human to spirit? Yeah, I mean, I don't want to go through that.

SPEAKER_02

I guess I'm gonna throw out there, like I fully understand that the human body dying is not a great process, but you're not in it when you're losing all of that and stuff like that. That's your body's just it's your meat suits shutting down, is really what it comes down to. Your meat suit is shutting down. So you're already not there.

SPEAKER_01

You're you're already, you know, my grandfather on his deathbed, he and this just hit. I mean, wow, it was hard, you know, because I don't think we're supposed to know what it's like to be dying in the dying process. And he looked at me while he was on his deathbed and he goes, This was the this is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. And I'm like, I want to throw up because I could feel it. I could feel that, you know.

SPEAKER_02

I I mean, I I don't know if I necessarily feel the same, but I've also not experienced it as deeply as you have either. I just I've worked with people who work in funeral homes. So I've I've seen, you know, morticians and stuff like that. So I know the the the body's process is not great, but I know there's a lot of peace at the end for family members that have other family members that are coming to gather them and you know, love them and energetically be there for them. And I think that that is the piece that I like to think is is a little bit easier for us. The meat suit portion, we're not here for, but the spiritual portion I think is the key.

SPEAKER_00

And I I'll share, I've always been kind of fearful of dying because I didn't know for the longest time what happened once you died. And do I know the answers now 100% no? But I feel like I have an understanding and a grasp on it that I didn't have before, and I find security in that. And I've been around people who have passed. As Stacy said, there's people there greeting you, meeting you. I still struggle, like Krissa, with the fact that I'm leaving this part of me that I've known since birth behind. And I know what's gonna happen to the meat suit. That word's hard for me to say, but I know what's gonna happen to that is not glamorous, and that kind of makes me sad. And then I really like Michelle. And the thought of moving and transitioning away from that is a little bit hard, but she's always a part of whatever my soul does next. Yeah, whatever next. Yeah, it's changed. I think this is gonna be a really good conversation somewhere in the near future.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Probably after the holidays. So coming up this month, we have beautiful Carissa doing another meditation for us. We are gonna have a holiday episode, and then I think we're gonna have a prediction episode. We're gonna sit with our guides and kind of bring in what we see happening or what the vibe of 2025 is. We may even be able to. Now, I'm not making any promises. Get Carissa to do a couple astrology predictions or readings.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know what just popped up on my phone? Right, a mantra. I am grateful for my healthy body.

But remember everyone, if this is the first episode you're listening to, we do have a whole library now on your favorite podcasting platform. So go download them, listen to us, communicate with us. We want to hear from you, and we're really excited about what the next year is gonna bring, but we got to get through the holidays first. So with that, Stacey, take it away.
